Invincible continues an epic season 1 with episode 5, “That Actually Hurt”, which brings a whole lot of action, all while moving the plot forward.

Invincible is staying extremely faithful to the comic books, which as a fan of those comics, has me very excited. The pacing is a bit different and somethings are not happening in the exact same way, but I know what is coming if they stay on course and I cannot WAIT for the world to see it all unfold! Fans were just given episode 5 of season 1, which is called “That Actually Hurt” and WOW what an episode!

After last week’s episode, viewers know that there are some downfalls to dating a normal human when you are superpowered, as Mark Grayson, aka Invincible, also discovered. He struggles to keep his new girlfriend happy, and still protect the world, and train with his father, Omni-Man.

    INVINCIBLE

While this episode might feel a bit slow to start, I promise you, stick with it. There are some epic fight scenes, which has become par for the course for this show, but also a lot of great plot driving events. In order to keep this spoiler free for those of you that have not yet watched the new episode, I will just say this is an important one to pay attention to.

One of my favorite things about this show is the bloody, gore filled, jaw dropping fight scenes — and don’t worry, there is one in this episode. This one might take the cake so far actually, and it goes on for so much longer than you might ever imagine it will. I am pretty sure I was staring at the screen with a giant smile on my face the whole time.

Also in this episode, Mark’s mother is starting to get a bit suspicious of Omni-Man and starts poking around. Wait until you find out what she discovers. As always, stay though the first bit of credits because there is a bonus scene for you — and this one is a doozy!

The voice cast continues to impress and with only three episodes left in the first season, there are sure to be some massive moments and reveals coming up! Knowing what happens in the comic books, I have my hopes and dreams for the rest of the series, but also for the events that transpire in the rest of the first season of the series. I cannot WAIT to see what Amazon comes up because so far it feels like what we have been given has been ripped right from the comics, and dare I say it, made even better!

Episode 5 – That Actually Hurt
Feeling confident in his new abilities, Mark risks a team-up with a local villain to take down a crime lord, while simultaneously juggling school and a new relationship.
