SpongeBob SquarePants loves his pet snail Gary, and I he is not alone! Gary has proven to be a great friend time and time again. Now you can have your very own Gary the Snail thanks to this super easy rock painting craft.
Kids will have a blast making their own Gary. The best part? If you have a bunch of rocks you can make Gary more snail friends and let your imaginations run wild while painting their shells.
Gary the Snail Rock Craft Supplies
- smooth rock
- paints – red, pink, purple, blue, & green
- blue pipe cleaner
- mini cotton balls
- black marker
- super glue
- scissors
How To Make a Gary the Snail Rock Craft
Paint your rock according to Gary’s colors:
- Make a large section toward the left hand side his pink shell with a red swirl and five purple dots.
- Paint his face/body blue on the right hand side and bottom of the rock.
- Use green paint to make a thin line on the bottom of the rock to be the slime.
Let rock dry for about twenty minutes. While it dries, use the yellow marker to draw a ring around the pupils on the googly eyes. Use the green marker to color in the rest of the white.. Cut the pipe cleaner into two antennae. Glue eyes on the top of each pipe cleaner. Glue pipe cleaners onto the body portion of Gary.
There you have it! Your very own Gary! Remember, you can totally make him a whole group of snail friends to play with using the same steps but using your imagination to paint their shells.
