I have two young daughters and every Easter we decorate our own Easter eggs. This year I discovered Eggnots, a dyeable ceramic replacement for Easter eggs, and I am so excited about them. Now we can keep our creations year after year – and I cannot wait to see how my daughters’ artwork changes over the years. If you know me, you know I am a total Marvel geek, so of course I made Infinity Stone Easter eggs for mine.
Something I have always thought was very important is female empowerment. I have two young daughters and my husband and I have worked hard to show them that they are strong and can do anything they want to do. One show that really reinforces this is She-Ra and the Princesses of Power from DreamWorks Animation on Netflix. It is They both fell in love with it from the moment we started watching it. This show is so great for young girls because they see that females can be the heroes. I decided to put together a party to celebrate International Women’s Day (March 8th) for my girls and a few of their friends. Of course our theme centered around She-Ra and the other Princesses.
My girls are big fans of PJ Masks. It is one of their favorite Disney Junior shows and I have to admit, I enjoy watching it too. My youngest loves it so much that her 2nd birthday party was themed PJ Masks. So of course, we work this show in to every holiday season around our house, and Valentine’s Day is no different. I remember making a holder for my valentines to take my class every year when I was a kid, so I wanted to help my daughters do the same. Check out this super easy DIY PJ Masks Inspired Valentine Holder PLUS some ideas on what to fill it with!
A new show, Gigantosaurus is coming to the Disney Junior block on the Disney Channel this Friday (January 18th). I was able to watch a screener and I promise you that kids (and parents) are going to love this show! It is a lot of fun, and my daughters and I instantly fell in love with the group of dinosaur friends that star in the show – Mazu, Tiny, Bill, and Rocky. My youngest daughter really loves the Gigantosaurus too, who isn’t as mean as you might expect. In order to celebrate this new show, I am sharing with you this craft that is super easy to make, and kids are sure to have unlimited fun with!
My family likes to go big for Halloween. It is one of our favorite holidays and we start decorating in September so we can enjoy it longer. Our house is always one that people stop at to check out. We have a smoking cauldron, which is pretty awesome, but the biggest draw is our singing pumpkins. They have a nightly show starting in October and we have become sort of famous for it in our little city.
As you likely know already, my family loves to game! Every weekend we can be found playing video games, and Bomberman is one of our favorites. We love it because we can all play together – and my youngest just loves to buy all the different hats. While deciding on the pumpkin she wanted to make this year, her hardest decision was which hate her Bomberman pumpkin would have. A crab? Classic ball? Nope, she settled on the ice cream hat, and I am so glad she did!
