Teyonah Parris Confirms We Get Monica Rambeau’s Past In WandaVision

During the WandaVision press junket today, Teyonah Parris, who plays Monica Rambeau, confirms that we will learn about her past in the Marvel series.

One of the things I am most excited about for WandaVision is that we get Monica Rambeau all grown up. From the moment she appeared as a little girl in Captain Marvel, comic book fans knew just how exciting this was. She actually dons the Captain Marvel name in the comics, so this is a big deal. You can read more about Monica Rambeau’s appearance in Captain Marvel here. 

In 2019 at the D23 Expo we learned that Teyonah Parris would be coming into the MCU as an older version of Monica, in the Disney+ show WandaVision. During the press junket for this show, Teyonah gave us a little more insight into her character, and confirmed that we are going to learn a lot about her journey in the series. 

“Monica has been through some things, and seen some things. We will get to learn particularly what things she has seen and gone through, and how they have shaped her life. We will touch a lot on that through the course of the show.” – Teyonah Parris

Set photos have made us think that Monica is now working with S.W.O.R.D. (Sentient World Observation and Response Department) because of her badge and jacket. Clearly she has been on a journey to get here, and it seems like WandaVision will eventually give us all the how and why details. Something that I know Marvel fans cannot wait to uncover!

Teyonah also confirmed that Monica Rambeau will be joining Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel in Captain Marvel 2! A movie I am very much looking forward to!
