Cobra Kai season 3 is probably the best season yet with all the drama and karate – here is the ending explained!

Cobra Kai season 3 is most definitely my favorite season of the whole series. There are so many reasons why. All the drama, karate, surprise actors reprising their previous roles, and so much more! I have been a fan of Johnny’s from the very beginning, but I feel like this season really gave him a story arc that means something.
And that final scene of the series? Goosebumps! Be warned, if you read on I will be discussing major plot points about Cobra Kai season 3, including its ending. So if you have not watched it yet and wish to remain in the dark, bookmark this article and come back later.

Warning: Major Spoilers Ahead For Cobra Kai Season 3!
There are a lot of incredible plot points, story and character arcs, and surprises in Cobra Kai Season 3, making it the very best of the series so far. That being said, the way that it ended has me already counting the minutes until season 4!
Below is Cobra Kai Season 3 and ending explained. I touch on all major plot points so for the final time, you are warned.

Chozen and Daniel Reconcile
When Daniel goes to try to patch things up with Doyona and ensure the success of his dealership, he also happens upon a one time rival, Chozen. The two end up not only mending bridges, but they part ways as almost friends.
Chozen trains Daniel further in Myagi-do and teaches him some things that Mr. Miyagi left out of his training when he was younger. It felt good to see this rivalry end on a high note.

John Kreese’s Time in Vietnam
In season 3 of Cobra Kai we get a lot of background on John Kreese and his time in Vietnam. This is where he was hardened and learned to give no mercy, as he saw other soldiers die around him. He was even captured and told to fight his commander to the death.
When his superior let him know his love had died before they were sent off to war, but he kept it a secret so as to not distract him, Kreese lost it. His troop was able to escape however before leaving, he pushed his commander into a pit of snakes.

Miguel Recovers
The way that season 2 was left with Miguel unable to walk and in the hospital was heartbreaking. He has quite the character arc in season 3. At first he has given up and refuses to even try to walk. But when Johnny shows up to be his sensei yet again, he is pushed to his limits at every turn. Johnny even sets his foot on fire trying to get him to walk.
It does take some time but Miguel not only recovers and is able to walk, he is able to fight again. And he helps Johnny realize how much he loves being a sensei, which leads him to a pretty big decision.

A Third Dojo In Town
Johnny decides to create a third dojo in town since Kreese has taken Cobra Kai from him. Him and Miguel plan it all out, which gave me lots of vibes from season 1 and their time together creating Cobra Kai. They go with the name Eagle Fang, which is kind of silly but also works.
After Johnny looks for a fitting dojo, he realizes there are a not a lot of options. Eventually he realizes that he cannot afford a decent dojo, but then discovers that the park is free. Johnny and Miguel recruit the ex-members of Cobra Kai that were kicked out by Kreese. Miguel also tries to get Hawk to join him, but Hawk mockingly declines.
Elisabeth Shue Is Back!
Elisabeth Shue reprises her role as Ali in Cobra Kai season 3 and although we do not get nearly enough of her, it was great to see her join the cast for a couple of episodes. While I would have loved to see her and Johnny get together, and I do think that might have been her initial intention, it was nice to see her make Johnny realize who he truly loves. Carmen.

Robby Joins Cobra Kai.
Robby is on the run after what he did to Miguel and Daniel tricks him into meeting with him, and then calls the police. Unfortunately, Robby has a tough time in there and eventually Kreese bails him out. Since he no longer trusts Daniel or Johnny, he ends up joining Cobra Kai, and takes Kreese as his sensei.
Two Big Fights In The Finale
One of my favorite things about this show is the karate fights. There are two big ones in the finale of Cobra Kai Season 3. The first is at the LaRusso’s. Sam and Miguel try to unite Miyagi-do and Eagle Fang while the adults are out at a holiday party. Cobra Kai crash the get together and beat up Miyagi-do pretty badly. However, one of my favorite scenes is during this fight, where Hawk and Demetri team up. To see Hawk be redeemed, and decide to join forces with his real friends again, is heartwarming.

After the adults arrive back home they discover what happened. Johnny finds Miguel beaten up, and Daniel returns home to see the damage caused. They both go to confront Kreese at Cobra Kai and Daniel even almost kills Kreese. However the kids show up at the end and stop him.
Johnny and Daniel joining forces in the finale.
The final scene of Cobra Kai Season 3 shows the Miyagi-Do students at their dojo, and then they are joined by the Cobra Kai kids. Daniel and Johnny are joint sanseis and they are set to combine the two dojos to take on Cobra Kai.
This scene gives me chills and I have to admit, I watched it several times over. I cannot wait to see what is to come in season 4. With Robby at Cobra Kai, I can’t help but think that Daniel and Johnny will take it easy on them. At least a little bit.
About Cobra Kai Season 3
COBRA KAI takes place over 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament with
the continuation of the inescapable conflict between Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny
Lawrence (William Zabka).
Season 3 finds everyone reeling in the aftermath of the violent high school brawl between their dojos, which has left Miguel in a precarious condition. While Daniel searches for answers in his past and Johnny seeks redemption, Kreese further manipulates his vulnerable students with his own vision of dominance. The soul of the Valley is at stake, and the fate of every student and sensei hangs in the balance.
