    2019 anticipated movies

2019 is more than halfway over, but there are still some movies that I cannot wait to see left to hit theaters! You might remember I wrote about my 2019 most anticipated movies when the year started, and some of those totally missed the mark (The Lion King and Us coming to mind).

As I was planning out the rest of our summer, I realized there are a lot more movies coming out this year — and a lot of them I am hyped for. So, why not share with you guys my 10 most anticipated movies for (the remainder) of 2019!

once upon a time in hollywood

    10. Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood

By the time this article posts, I will have seen this movie. However, I am HYPED to see it. Even though there have been mixed reviews. I love Quentin Tarantino films, I hope this one delivers!

A faded television actor and his stunt double strive to achieve fame and success in the film industry during the final years of Hollywood’s Golden Age in 1969 Los Angeles. In theaters now.

    zombieland 2

    9. Zombieland: Double Tap

I loved the first Zombieland. When I found out about this second one — I was so excited. And then the trailer. Yea. Sold. 100%. I cannot wait for this movie! It looks like it will be just as good (or even better?!). I love that the cast is back! In theaters October 11th.

    angry birds 2 movie

    8. Angry Birds 2

I liked the first Angry Birds movie. It was cute. When I heard there was a second one, I thought it might be a fun at home movie night. And then my friend Amanda from Guide For Geeks went to the press event for Angry Birds 2. She told me it was funnier than the first one. And that sold me. We will be taking the kids to see this in theaters for sure! In theaters August 14th.

    7. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil

I admit it, I saw the original Maleficent once. In my house. With crazy kids running around yelling. I don’t remember much of it at all. I never really thought about rewatching it — until this trailer dropped. Now I am beyond hyped for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil! In theaters October 18th.

    6. Dora and the Lost City of Gold

I am JUST as surprised as you are that this movie is this high up on my list. The trailers completely sold me. Especially the second one. I watched Dora the Explorer with my daughters when they were little. On repeat. I know these characters like I know the back of my hand. The fact that this movie makes fun of itself, has me excited! In theaters August 9th.

    it chapter 2

    5. IT: Chapter 2

“I hate his face so much.” That bascially sums up how I feel about this movie. Why do I still want to see this movie in theaters? Like REALLY want to see it? I have no clue. I have problems. Clearly. Coming to theaters September 6, 2019.

scary stories to tell in the dark

    4. Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

These books TERRIFIED me as a child. I read them. I had nightmares. And I now have PTSD. And for whatever reason, I want to see this movie. I will likely end up crying in theaters, but hey… it might be fun? In theaters August 9th.

    3. Frozen II

Frozen is one of my favorite Disney movies, so when I heard there was going to be a second one, I was thrilled. And then we got the first trailer — YES! It looks so good! I need to know all the details. Will Anna and Elsa find their parents? I hope so! In theaters November 22nd.

    joker poster

    2. Joker

The Joker is probably my favorite villain of all time. Yes, more so than any Marvel villain. Something about him sucks me in. Honestly, I was not thrilled about this movie when I first heard about it (and the casting…). But then the trailer dropped and OMG, I am HYPED! This is one that I cannot wait for! My butt will be in theaters opening weekend for sure! In theaters October 4th.

    1. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

I mean. Do I really have to say anything?
