Mansions of Madness Review: Why My Family of 4 Loves This Game

Mansions of Madness Game Review

My family loves to game together. We enjoy all types of games, especially video games and board games. But our newest favorite is a combination of both of these – Mansions of Madness. The last few Sundays have become our day to play and we have loved the bonding experience. This is a co-op game, so it is one that we play all together. The box says ages 14+ because it is super creepy – I mean, we are fighting monsters and creatures – but my girls are 6 and 7 and they LOVE it.

Every Game Is Different

Probably my favorite thing about this game is that every time you play it is different. Sure, if you are playing the same scenario the end game is the same, but the layout might be different, and the path and monsters along the way are as well. To be honest if we fail a mission, it is all I can think about until we get the chance to play it again. I think of things we need to do differently and how to better handle certain obstacles. I might even change which character I choose because of a certain ability they have.

Be Ready for a Long Game

Now each scenario will tell you about how long the game play is when you are selecting it. When we play with the girls, we try to keep it under a two hour game. But if we are playing just myself and my husband, we have attempted some of the three hour plus games. The time truly does fly when playing Mansions of Madness – it is so good! And there are many expansion packs you can purchase if you want a change of scenarios. You can even purchase scenarios right from the app.
