In this house, we love Disney. I think pretty much every one knows that. Because there are young girls in the house, Disney Junior is almost always on the TV. There are so many great shows, like Vampirina, that we all love to watch as a family. The Lion Guard is another family favorite so we were thrilled to see a new DVD release from them this week. The Lion Guard: The Rise of Scar collects 5 of our favorite episodes (we are all suckers for a good villain like Scar) and is available now on DVD!
I grew up watching DuckTales, so when I heard that Disney was bringing it back, I was pretty excited. In fact, walking around Walt Disney World this summer, my whole family was singing “DuckTales Woo-oo!” wherever we went. I am thrilled to be able to bring my daughters up watching this show, since it meant so much to me when I was younger. Recently, we were sent an advance copy of DuckTales: Woo-oo, a special from the new season.
Everyone in my family is a HUGE Rapunzel fan. Tangled is hands down one of our favorite Disney movies. We watch it together at least once a month. A while back, when it was announced there was going to be a Tangled show, we were all thrilled! We tuned in on premiere night and have been hooked ever since. Tangled the Series: Queen for a Day is a special that aired in November. We loved it, so were super excited to get an advance copy of it on DVD! It hits stores December 12th – just in time to be the perfect stocking stuffer!
My family loves Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang. It just does not feel like the holidays until we watch their holiday movies. I was raised on Peanuts and am now raising my daughters on them as well. They are big fans of Snoopy, Lucy, and Charlie Brown! If you have someone like this in your life, allow me to tell you about 5 great Peanuts gifts! Plus, enter for a chance to win them all!
The Smiths are a family of Pokemon fanatics! My husband and I have been playing the video games since we were young kids, and now we are getting our girls started on them as well. At least once a week, we play the Pokemon Trading Card game as a family, and we are constantly battling each other in Sun and Moon on our Nintendo DSes. Because we are such huge fans, we were THRILLED to learn that GameStop and ThinkGeek are launching an exclusive Pokemon Center at their store locations and online!
I have been a fan of South Park for years and years. I was a young teenager when I started watching it and it is kind of something I grew up watching. I remember when the movie came out and my friends and I went to see it in theaters – ten times! I don’t watch it religiously anymore, but I will watch an episode here and there. I enjoyed the first UbiSoft South Park game, The Stick of Truth, so I was really excited to receive a copy of The Fractured But Whole.
My daughters love My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. It is easily one of their favorite TV shows, and I can’t blame them. It is one of my favorites as well. Yes, it is a little different than the My Little Ponies I grew up watching, but it is still really entertaining for the whole family. As we prepare for a busy holiday season, it was perfect timing for a holiday themed My Little Pony DVD to show up on our doorstep. My Little Pony Friendship is Magic: Holiday Hearts is a great way to get everyone in the holiday mood!
My daughters are head over heels in love with the latest addition to Disney Junior – Vampirina! We tuned in for the debut on October 1st and have been watching it ever since. It quickly became a favorite of mine as well because of the great lessons it teaches my girls. Even within the first episode it was clear that the creators of Vampirina wanted kids to know that everyone is the same on the inside. Yes, Vampirina is a vampire, but that doesn’t mean she can’t make friends. Every time she lets a friend in on her secret, they accept her for who she is.
At New York Comic-Con, we had the opportunity to check out Marvel Television’s Madison Square Garden panel showcasing the latest season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Executive Vice President of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb led the panel, which included cast members Natalia Cordova-Buckley (Elena “Yo-Yo” Rodriguez), Henry Simmons (Alphonso “Mack” McKenzie), Elizabeth Henstridge (Jemma Simmons), Iain De Caestecker (Leo Fitz), Ming-Na Wen (Melinda May), Chloe Bennet (Daisy “Skye” Johnson), and of course, Clark Gregg (Agent Phil Coulson). In honor of it being the fifth season of Agents of Shield, we’re going to share with you THE TOP 5 REVEALS ABOUT AGENTS OF SHIELD SEASON FIVE!
One of our favorite holidays is Halloween. There is nothing like cuddling up with the family, putting on a spooky movie or TV show, and eating some treats. Our daughters are pretty young still (4 and 6) so we tend to select videos that they can watch – but that we will enjoy too. That is why we love NCircle and were thrilled to get some Halloween DVDs from them. These are must haves for families with young kids!
