Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger hooked me from the first few minutes, and I haven’t looked back since. You probably know I am a huge Marvel comics fan, but some heroes I have never known much about are Cloak and Dagger. I love when they pop in to help save the day in crossover events – but I have never checked out their stand alone comics. From what I do know, their origin differs from what we see in this show, but Freeform is killing it with their interpretation. The season finale airs next week (August 2nd), and if you haven’t watched the show yet, get ready to binge all 9 episodes.
I don’t know about your family, but mine is always on the edge of their seat waiting for Shark Week to come to TV! To help celebrate I am letting you know about some of our favorite shark related toys and DVDs. And then, I am going to give a Shark Week package away to one lucky reader! Good luck – and stay out of the water this week (yikes!).
San Diego Comic-Con is this weekend and I wanted to be there more than anything but it is Grandmother’s surprise 90th birthday party and that takes precedence. Boo. I will be trying my best to keep up with trailers (check out my YouTube channel for all the trailer reaction videos) and news. I will be sharing what I can here, as quickly as possible. So if you don’t want to miss any of my reaction videos, bookmark this page and come periodically.
I remember when my daughters got their first Fancy Nancy book. It was a Halloween one and we must have read it at least ten times that night. They were immediately hooked on her and honestly, I can’t blame them. She is fun and spunky, just like they are. Not to mention her incredible sense of fashion! So when I heard that Disney Junior was going to have a Fancy Nancy show, I knew we would be tuning in for every episode! While in LA recently, I was lucky enough to watch two episodes as well as chat with Executive Producer/Director Jamie Mitchell and Story Editor Krista Tucker. Here are 10 fun facts about Disney Junior’s Fancy Nancy that I learned from this interview.
What Does the Future of Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger Hold? Interview with Cast & Crew! | #CloakAndDaggerEvent #CloakAndDagger
Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger hooked me from the very first few minutes. Admittedly, I am not a giant fan of the comic book characters but I love Freeform shows so I wanted to give this one a chance. Boy am I glad I did. Each episode gets better and better – literally. Just when I think there is no possible way that they can top an episode, they do. And they are the master of leaving us with a cliffhanger and making us wait a week to find out what is going to happen. While in LA for the Ant-Man and The Wasp event, I got an advanced screening of episode five. No shocker when I say it was the best one yet. After it ended, in walked the creator/showrunner Joe Poleski, Andrea Roth (Melissa Bowen), Miles Mussenden (Otis Johnson), and the Vice President of Original Programming at MARVEL TV, Tom Lieber. We chatted with them about how the show came about and what we might see in the future.
The first movie my family ever saw in theaters together was Big Hero 6. Our youngest daughter was pretty young (just under 2) but she was mesmerized by Baymax. I knew right then that we had a little Disney fan on our hands! This quickly became one of the most played movies in our house, so when the animated series was announced a while back, we were all excited! Big Hero 6 The Series is so much fun – for the whole family! And now that the series has been released on DVD, we decided to throw the ultimate viewing party!

This time I will be screening Ant-Man and The Wasp, as well as interviewing some of the cast and filmmakers! I have been waiting for this movie since the moment it was hinted at in Ant-Man. And as if that wasn’t amazing enough, we will be checking out Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger and a new Disney Junior show, Fancy Nancy, too! Read on for all the details and of course, let me know if you have any questions for me to ask. I will do my best to get them answered for you!
Hands down one of my favorite parts of going to a comic convention is checking out all of the cosplay. I love looking at all the details and recognizing the time that people put in to their outfits. Cosplay has always intrigued me and if I was more talented and crafty, I would cosplay pretty much everywhere I go. Instead I stick to bounding and wearing themed dresses. Niagara Falls Comic Con this year was filled with great cosplay. Everywhere I looked, there was another great outfit to check out.
My kids live for summer – as I am sure most do. Especially at their young age – they are 5 and 7. My whole family looks forward to grilling dinners, playing games in the yard, and just having fun together in the warm weather. Something else my girls are passionate about? Well that would be PJ Masks. Like their Mama, they are big superhero fans. I have started them young with stories about Iron Man and Spider-Man, and so when they first saw PJ Masks on Disney Junior, they fell in love! This summer I am combining two of their loves, outside fun and PJ Masks!
Cloak & Dagger are a couple of my favorite comic book characters. I have always loved how connected they are and how if you see one without the other, it just doesn’t seem right. So when I heard that Freeform was going to have a Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger show starting this summer, I was thrilled. Freeform is home to some of my favorite shows, like The Fosters, so I had a feeling this was going to be a big hit for me. When I was given the chance to watch the first few episodes before they aired, I was super excited. Trust me when I say, this show is going to hook you from the start – Marvel fan or not!
