If you have spent any amount of time talking to me, I have probably ranted and raved about the movie What We Do In The Shadows. This is one of the three Taika Waititi movies I encouraged fans of Thor: Ragnarok to watch because they are so good! I mean, that man is brilliant. I was able to actually sit down and interview Taika Waititi a while ago and it was at that time that he told me about the What We Do In The Shadows TV show. Yea, I about died right then and there. This was before it was common knowledge, but he told me him and Jemaine Clement were working on it. Well, it finally premiered this week and here is what I thought about it.
Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger hooked me right from the first episode last season. One of my favorite things about it was the music, it was just so… perfect. Which was something I brought up in my interview with the cast and crew of Cloak and Dagger last year. They let me know that this is very planned out, which is obvious. Well, season two of this show is coming soon, but I was sent a press screener of the first two episodes and WOW! I was right back in it with Tandy and Tyrone – and loving this show! They pick right back up where we left off.
After streaming the first episode of SyFy’s Deadly Class before it even aired, I was instantly hooked (just check out my Deadly Class review of episode one). I knew immediately that this show was right up my alley. First of all, it is based on a comic book, and you know how much I love my comic books. Second, it is filled with action. And not just any action. Gory action. There is also bad language, and inappropriate situations. Plus the Russo Brothers are Executive Producers, so I knew it was going to only get better. I was hooked all season long, and the finale just left me begging for more.
Something I have always thought was very important is female empowerment. I have two young daughters and my husband and I have worked hard to show them that they are strong and can do anything they want to do. One show that really reinforces this is She-Ra and the Princesses of Power from DreamWorks Animation on Netflix. It is They both fell in love with it from the moment we started watching it. This show is so great for young girls because they see that females can be the heroes. I decided to put together a party to celebrate International Women’s Day (March 8th) for my girls and a few of their friends. Of course our theme centered around She-Ra and the other Princesses.
We love the PJ Masks in the Smith house! It is one of our favorite shows to watch together. My youngest daughter even had a PJ Masks themed birthday party. So when we found out that PJ Masks LIVE is coming to Syracuse, we knew we had to go. I am really looking forward to seeing their faces. Don’t worry, you will be able to as well because you know I will be posting on social media. To help celebrate this tour, I want to give a lucky reader a pack of four tickets to their local PJ Masks show so they can take their family too.
My girls are big fans of PJ Masks. It is one of their favorite Disney Junior shows and I have to admit, I enjoy watching it too. My youngest loves it so much that her 2nd birthday party was themed PJ Masks. So of course, we work this show in to every holiday season around our house, and Valentine’s Day is no different. I remember making a holder for my valentines to take my class every year when I was a kid, so I wanted to help my daughters do the same. Check out this super easy DIY PJ Masks Inspired Valentine Holder PLUS some ideas on what to fill it with!
You probably already know this but my family and I are HUGE Disney fans! In fact, we just spent nearly two weeks going between the Walt Disney World parks and a Disney Cruise (I hated coming back to reality, yes). Today a fun new DVD is available – Minnie: Bow Be Mine! My girls LOVE Minnie Mouse, so they are eager to check this one out. I am excited to give away a copy, along with a really fun prize pack, to one of my lucky readers! Good luck!
Puppy Dog Pals is a favorite in our household. My youngest daughter, who just turned 6, is obsessed. We have several Puppy Dog Pals playhouses, stuffed animals, figures, clothing – you name it, we have it. Her 5th birthday party was Puppy Dog Pals themed and she wanted her 6th to be Puppy Dog Pals themed too. She is a HUGE fan. So when we found out that another DVD was due to be released, Playtime with Puppy Dog Pals, you know we were thrilled!
My girls are getting older and while there are many things I will miss about them being little, there are many things I am excited for as well. My oldest has started watching what we call “real people shows” and I love cuddling up with her to watch them. The Disney Channel has become something special between the two of us, and I am really excited for the new show, Sydney to the Max. We watched the trailer together and she can’t wait either!
Very rarely a sequel, or second season of a television show, is better than the first. Well, season 2 of Future Man just dropped on Hulu this past weekend and it came damn close. The first season blew me away. It made me fall even more in love with Josh Hutchinson as an actor. Eliza Coupe and Derek Wilson quickly because two of my favorite actors as well. And now, their growth and change in season two – amazing. Sure there were some obvious twists, but it didn’t take away from how great this season is.
