My girls and I love to binge watch together on Netflix. It has kind of become our thing on rainy days this summer. I think I enjoy the kids shows, just as much as they do. One of our favorites is Dawn of the Croods – so we are thrilled to share that Season 2 has been added to Netflix today, August 26! I think we were all secretly hoping for rain, even though the summer is coming to a close, so we could binge watch the whole season! Dinotrux recently celebrated it’s first birthday and I have a great way for you and your little ones to help celebrate! My daughters love watching Dinotrux on Netflix. I was lucky enough to go see the live action version of The Jungle Book before it came out in theaters while I was in LA for the Captain America: Civil War premiere. Once it was released, I took my (then) 4 year old to go see it on a special mommy/daughter date. She loved it – and I was so pleased. She talked about it for weeks and when the Blu-ray version arrived in the mail this week, she opened up right away and asked if we could watch it. She wanted to show her little sister, who is 3, and to be honest, I was nervous that she might be scared. But she wasn’t at all!
Starting school is a tough time for kids – and parents as well. My daughter has been going to preschool for two years (one year was a pre-preschool program) but I am not ready for her to be gone all day long. We are used to 2.5 hours a day – not 6.5 – which is what she will be doing at Kindergarten this year. I have been spending as much time as possible with her this summer since I know the first few months of school will be busy and I just won’t be getting the time with her I am used to. Thanks to Peppa Pig, I have some great tips to share with my daughter about starting school. Hopefully they will help calm her nerves and create fun times at school and not just nervous ones.

Pete’s Dragon hits theaters everywhere next Friday, August 12th – and my girls and I cannot wait for it! Even my husband, who is not a big fan of reimagining movies, wants to see this one because of the cast. We have watched the original with our young daughters and they are huge fans of Elliot already. I remember wishing I had a dragon of my own when I was a little girl, and now my 3 and 5 year old feel the same way.
