Solar Opposites Season 4 seamlessly transitions voice actors for Korvo, as well as provides multiple storylines to keep fans interested from beginning to end.
Fans of Solar Opposites were likely a bit nervous when changes had to be mad surrounding one of the co-creators of the series, and the voice of Korvo himself, Justin Roiland. He needed to be removed from the project due to accusations against him. So how could the show continue on without him?
You might think it would be difficult to replace the voice of one of the main characters in season 4, but it turns out, the writers behind Solar Opposites are so brilliant that they came up with a way to transition seamlessly.

Season 4 of the show kicks off with Korvo getting his voice box damaged. Yumyulack tries to fix it with one of their infamous ray guns, but ends up altering his voice instead. Even though he offers to correct this, Terry, who is Korvo’s partner, decides this new voice is working for him, and the rest is history. Now Dan Stevens is free to come in and use his voice, rather than trying to find a way to simulate Justin’s.
This works extremely well. Not only do we get a hilarious joke out of it, Dan does such a wonderful job in the role, that Justin Roiland is never really missed. It takes less than an episode to get used to it, and quite frankly, it seems to fit Korvo better.
Solar Opposites viewers have long expressed their love of The Wall episodes. The Wall is where the humans that Yumyulack and Jesse have shrunk down for fun live. There has been rebellion after rebellion, and the majority of the drama and dark storylines come from these episodes. Solar Opposites season 4 once again embraces The Wall, dedicating several of its eleven episodes to it.
These are always a nice break from the silly antics that the Opposites go on (although we love those too). This season things get even darker than you could ever imagine inside the wall. It touches on religious hypocrisies in a way that is not only utterly hilarious, but also a bit terrifying, as we know these things happen in real life.
The Wall episodes are some of the best, and more entertaining of the season. That being said, the entire season is top notch, and probably the best of the series so far. These episodes are spread out enough to keep you wondering how it is all going to play out, while offering a nice reprieve for the heaviness of it with the wild adventures of Korvo, Terry, Jesse, and Yumyulack.
But The Wall isn’t the only story line that deviates from the Opposites this time around. Remember that car loving neighbor that go shot into space? He’s back. And things get quite dark for him too.
One of the main reasons that Solar Opposites season 4 works so well is because there is so much variety with these three different storylines. This one, and the wall’s, are linear. They span a few episodes, that are not placed back to back in the season. Doing so allows them room to breath, and to also have the viewers begging for more, and excited when one of the episodes pops up.
The Solar Opposites focused episodes have a very similar feel to those we have seen in the previous seasons. I am not saying they don’t offer anything new, because they do, but we get the same feel of the characters, even with Korvo’s new voice, and the same type of humor.
If you love the Solar Opposites, you are going to love season 4. There is no question about that. Don’t worry about losing Justin Roiland. You might think Korvo will never sound right again, but in fact, he sounds more right than ever before.
Every episode is a banger. There is not one mediocre one amongst them. The final episode even includes a nod to our favorite girl, Ms. Taylor Swift, as Terry wears a red Taylor’s Version shirt.
The way the finale of Solar Opposites season 4 closes out, fans have no clue what to expect for the next season. Which is both nerve-wracking and exhilarating. One thing thing is for sure though, if it is even half as good as this season, it will deliver what the fans want.

Solar Opposites centers around a team of four aliens who are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome. Korvo (Dan Stevens) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty while Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) love TV, junk food and fun stuff.
