Jeremy Renner gets emotional talking about his new series, Rennervations, in which he repurposes vehicles for the greater good of communities.
Jeremy Renner‘s new unscripted series, Rennervations, is now streaming on Disney+. At the world premiere, Renner got emotional talking about the meaning behind this series and what he hopes it brings to the world. This show follow him, supported by a team of mechanics, engineers, and creatives, as they repurpose large vehicles like buses and ambulances, to better serve communities around the world. In just the first season, they have already created a mobile recording studio, dance studio, basketball court, and water system.
During a Q&A hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, Jeremy Renner gets emotional talking about the impact that he hopes Rennervations has on others. He tells a story of a boom mic operator that was working on the Big Brother/Big Sister episode. He was so touched, just during filming, that he signed up to be a Big Brother. And now a child’s life is changed forever. Renner holds back tears as he admits this is the vision he had for this series all along.
Unless you have been living under a rock, you know that tragedy struck and Renner almost lost his life due to a Snowcat accident. He speaks about how many people were a part of saving his life and keeping him alive, confessing he couldn’t have done it on his own. Not only was his family, friends, and specifically his daughter, a big part of his recovery, but this show was as well.
“It was such a big milestone for me to get better to make sure that our purpose was not for naught. There’s no alternative.”
Co-host of Rennervations and long time friend, Rory, chimes in that Renner is especially humble, but that he deserves all the love in the world and this series will show everyone the type of person he is.
“He’s a very quiet, private person and people don’t get to see what a huge heart has. Finally [Rennervations] will allow people to see who he is as a person. He’s an extremely generous and giving human being. You get to see, for the first time, the person that he is and you get to see that this isn’t some fake celebrity. This is a guy that takes time out of his busy schedule, away from his family, to do this because he’s trying to inspire everybody to look around your neighborhood. There’s organizations and if you spend just a minute and go out and find these groups, you can have an impact. You don’t have to be a superhero, you can be the boom operator.”
He adds that Jeremy Renner is beloved because of his heart. “That’s why when he gets hurt, everyone rallies around, leaves their families, and puts life on pause. Because he’s worth it. He doesn’t understand.”
Renner is visibly moved by these words from his friend Rory, and simply musters a nod as a thank you back to him.
Rennervations has started streaming on Disney+. Hopefully it will inspire you to help those around you that need it in your community.
