Ke Huy Quan dishes on Zootopia 2, saying that the story is incredible. He also shares that he has done a few recording sessions as Gary the snake.
Hot on the heels of the success of Moana 2, 2025 is going to be bringing another Disney animated sequel to our screens with Zootopia 2. This movie arrives in November, but fans do not know much about it. Little was teased during 2024’s D23 event, however it was revealed that Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan would be joining the cast.
During an interview in support of Love Hurts, we snuck in a question about the highly anticipated Disney Animation Studios movie. While he could not say much, Ke Huy Quan did dish a little bit on the upcoming film and his character, Gary.
Ke Huy Quan Dishes On Zootopia 2
Ke Huy Quan: The story is incredible. This is the year of the snake, and I play Gary the snake.
While we do not yet know much about Quan’s character, Gary, it is unlikely that Disney Animation would hire an Oscar winner for a minor character.
Ke Huy Quan: We are in the thick of making this movie right now. I’ve gone in for some voiceover sessions. The entire creative team is incredible. I can’t wait for the world to see it.
The fact that Quan mentions he has done more than one recording session is exciting. Hopefully this means that Gary is a major character, alongside fan favorites Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps.
This will not be the first time that Ke Huy Quan has voiced an animated character, as he recently portrayed Han in Kung Fu Panda 4.
Ke Huy Quan is an extremely talented actor, who took a break from being in front of the camera due to a lack of opportunities. We are so thankful to have him gracing our screens once again.
Zootopia 2 is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 26, 2025.
