The Legend of Vox Machina season 3 is only three episodes in and yet, it has already sent me on an emotional roller coaster I will never recover from.

The Legend of Vox Machina holds a special place in my heart for many reasons. Not only are the extremely talented and creative people behind the series some of the nicest human beings to ever walk the earth, this show has given something to my family that I can never pay back.
My children have been interested in tabletop role-playing games for as long as I can remember. And while I was as well, finding the time to commit to something like this can be difficult. After watching The Legend of Vox Machina, and then finding myself deep diving into the Critical Role YouTube Channel and binging the campaign videos, I decided to pull the trigger.
I am so thankful that I did, as playing a campaign with my family and friends has not only brought us closer, it has created memories that we will never forget – and we are only a handful of sessions in. We are truly having a blast, and I have to give Critical Role at least a little bit of the credit.
All of that is to say that I have felt a strong connection to these characters because of that. I love them dearly and only want what is best for them. Even though I know how some storylines play out, watching them come to life in animated form is a whole new experience, and I have loved it with every fiber of my being.

The Legend of Vox Machina season 3 is officially here, with three episodes that sent me on an emotional roller coaster from the start. The team is going through it, which caused me to go through it. Thordak is out for blood, and Vax sure seems to be in quite a bit of trouble at the start of season 3. After jumping back in time, we learn that there was a backup plan and thankfully, he is going to be ok – well, as ok as he can be anyway.
We may have already known that Anna Ripley was hot on their tail, but to actually see it (and see Orthax alongside her – or should I say inside of her) is a whole other thing. It raises the stakes even higher because now Vox Machina is dealing with multiple outside threats. And a couple of inside threats as well.

Vax. Vax. Vax. You cannot let yourself have happiness, can you? In The Legend of Vox Machina season 3 episode 1, Keyleth and Vax kiss and it is electric. Keyleth admits she is new to it, but you can read it all over her face, that girl is smitten. But the Matron of Ravens has other plans and disrupts the romantic moment with a vision of Keyleth all alone at the grave of her teammates. Which, to be fair, we all know is a possibility because she is likely to outlive them all. But it spooks Vax. Rightfully (and annoyingly) so.
This causes him to break things off with an already frustrated Keyleth in episode 3 of season 3. The poor girl can get no one to listen to her, and now she is getting love ripped away from her. It truly is not fair.

As if this wasn’t enough to cause me to spiral, Vax telling Keyleth that they cannot be together happens while Vex is showing Percy that… well… that they CAN be together, if you know what I mean. This is a brilliant editing decision that is going to leave fans with their emotions all over the place.
The sequence is sexy and spicy (ha, no pun intended). It is also exciting because it is impossible not to ship these two couples. One couple is going through an incredibly difficult time while the other is busy finally taking the time to explore… things. Then, immediately following, just to top it off, Scanlan tries to kiss Pike (because he is also going through it) and is turned away.
To say that The Legend of Vox Machina season 3 has hit the ground running is an understatement. There is a lot happening and it is making me feel things. So many emotions are coursing through my body that I do not even know how to handle them. One thing is for sure, I love this show. So f*cking much.
