House of the Dragon Season 2 welcomes fans back to Westeros, continuing the tale of treachery, family feuds, love, and lust, as all fight for the throne.
House of the Dragon fans will be thrilled to enter Westeros again, especially after the events of the season 1 finale. That murder has had a ripple effect through the kingdom, and rightfully so. House of the Dragon season 2 starts off with a bang, and never slows down. From the introduction of new characters (with familiar and exciting last names) to the untimely death of others, there is a lot to take in.
For fear of spoilers, there are not many details we can talk about, but we can say that, once again, there is a lot of focus on family and who is the rightful heir to the throne. There are blow up, drag down, knock out fights – sometimes between unexpected rivals. House of the Dragon season 1 is bloody, and House of the Dragon season 2 is proving to be just as bloody, if not more so.
House of the Dragon season 2 has exceptional set and prodduction design. Viewers will be tansported back in time, as they feel like they are actually a guest in Westeros. The visual effects were increduble last season, but they somehow look even better this time around.
Whether you are Team Black or Team Green, it is hard not to admit that both sides have done horrible things while also making good points. The action sequences are intense, but it is the verbal assaults and yelling fights that often hit the hardest. Seeing people who clearly love each other, or at least did at one point, go at one another is especially difficult.
Battles for power always bring out the worst in people. Something that Game of Thrones, and now House of the Dragon, does so well is showing just how far someone will go to get what they want. While there are certainly some that will stop before crossing the line, most are willing to do the worst thing immaginable to their foes.
Overall Review
This review is based solely on the first two episodes of House of the Dragon season 2, so it should be noted things could go downhill from here, but we truly do not expect that to happen. The first season was perfect, and this season is shaping up to be as well.
Emotions are riding high after the final events of House of the Dragon season 1, which is causing chaos, treachery, and deception to spread throughout the lands. This series boasts a phenomenal cast, with each and every actor bringing their A-gam time and time again.
With a war for the throne in full force, it seems like it is anyone’s game. Of course, those who know Game of Thrones know what the outcome will be, but that doesn’t make the journey any less entertaining.
