The penultimate episode follows Charlie and Vaggie as they prepare Hell for the fight against the angels. Charlie is questioning everything that she knows about Vaggie, feeling betrayed after learning that she is an angel. She thinks that if she could like to her about that, does she even really love her?

While dealing with the turmoil inside, Charlie makes a deal with Alistor to offer up one favor of his choosing at whatever time he sees fit. In return, he will reveal a secret — that the angels can be killed. The two go to cannibal town to hopefully convince them to be in their army. Charlie ultimately succeeds in recruiting them with an inspiring song, which is totally on brand for her.

At the same time, Vaggie goes to Carmilla asking to learn how the angels can be killed. It turns out they can be hurt when attacked with angel steel, which is rare. Of course, the answer was there all along — use the angel’s weapons against them. It is during the (incredible) song between Camilla and Vaggie that Vaggie exposes her wings!

At the end of the episode, Vaggie and Charlie are on great terms again, as it is clear the two love each other and that Vaggie is committed to the hotel and Charlie’s dreams.

The Hazbin Hotel season 1 finale sees the angels come down to Hell for the next extermination. Everyone fights bravely but some match ups are more intense than others. Alistor, for example, is nearly killed by Adam. He escapes just in the nick of time to lick his wounds, but it was a real nailbiter for a minute there.

Sir Pentious realizes that Adam is the biggest risk to his friends and decides to try to take him out. He finally gets the courage to tell Cherry Bomb how he feels, kissing her and asking her to remember him before he flies his blimp to Adam in hopes to destroy him. However, it is with the flick of a finger and some magic that Adam takes Pentious out without breaking a sweat.

    Hazbin Hotel season 1 finale

This is absolutely devastating and while his friends are distraught for a moment, they use their hurt and rage to take it out on the angels — specifically Vaggie to Lute, and Charlie to Adam. Vaggie bests Lute, but shows mercy and lets her live. Charlie is nearly killed by Adam but then her father, Lucifer, shows up and saves her.

He goes hard on Adam, nearly killing him, but then Charlie tells him to spare his life as well. Which is exactly what he does. However, Charlie handed Nifty and knife and told her to stab any angel she sees, so as Adam is, once again, talking about how great he is, Nifty stabs him in the back — repeatedly — killing him. Lute and the rest of the angels retreat.

Now the group is left to pick up the pieces of the hotel. They honor their fallen friend Sir Pentious while singing a song that ends with a tie back to the first episode, that it is going to be a happy day in Hell. With the extermination cut short, Charlie has turned the tides.

This sure sounds like a great ending, but brace yourselves, it is about to get even better. We then see Sir Pentious appear in Heaven. It seems he redeemed his soul and is worthy, making Adam the only true casualty of the Hazbin Hotel season 1 finale.

The final scene of the episode shows Lute confronting Lilith, telling her that it is her responsibility to go and stop her daughter, Charlie.
