LEGO® Star Wars Summer Vacation is similar to previous specials but still a whole ton of fun. Packed with Star Wars references and Easter Eggs, fans of all ages will love it!
Another LEGO® Star Wars special is here, and this time it takes place during a summer vacation. The star studded voice cast shows fans a new side of their favorite characters as they all go into vacation mode! If you enjoyed the previous specials, you will love this one as it is fun for fans of all ages.
In LEGO® Star Wars Summer Vacation the gang goes on vacation together but quickly find themselves separated. Everyone has their own things that they want to do, and while Finn invited everyone on this trip, Poe Dameron admittedly likes to plan things. His friends can’t stand him trying to force them to do what he wants, so they avoid him.
In turn, Finn ends up alone too and quite miserable about it. Lucky for him he has the help of some very special force ghosts who want to teach him a few lessons like doing what you love and having fun on the spot. The point is to help Finn enjoy his vacation, even if it isn’t going how he expected it to.
Because of this the 45 minute LEGO® Star Wars special is comprised of several different short stories involving fan favorite characters, much like we have seen with the previous specials. There are hilarious jokes and stunning animation as fans get to explore a side of these characters that they have never seen before — like Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader in vacation mode!
LEGO® Star Wars Summer Vacation is a whole lot of fun for fans of all ages. While it is certainly geared towards a younger audience, hardcore Star Wars fans will love all of the references and Easter Eggs such as a trash compactor mention, and our personal favorite, Anakin’s hatred of sand. There are even mentions of Disney Parks related things like Ronto Wraps.
This could have come off like one big fan service special, but it doesn’t. This is largely in part due to the brilliant writing and the obvious fun that the creators and cast had with it. For those who enjoyed the previous LEGO® Star Wars specials like the holiday one and the Halloween one, this is more of the same. This isn’t a bad thing though because if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.
LEGO® Star Wars Summer Vacation might not feel original, but it sure is a blast. Fans of all ages will love spending summer with their favorite characters — and learning some important life lessons while doing it.
