10 Most Emotional Moments in Disney’s Flora & Ulysses
Marvel Superheroes Intro
Like I said, I am a HUGE fan of superheroes so to see some of my favorites at the very start of this film was pretty emotional for me. I got probably way too excited, but it was an awesome way to kick off Flora & Ulysses.
When Flora’s Parents Separate
My parents are divorced so I really felt for Flora as she watched her dad leave the house. It was something that was clearly hard on all of them, and it made me emotional for sure.
“All Superheroes Are Drawings”
When George says this it is clear that he has given up all hope. He used to love superheroes, which is why he created them in his comics. So to see him broken down like this was really hard.
George Gets His Hope Back
The opposite emotion of being sad for George happens when Ulysses helps George get his hope back. Seeing him create and be artistic again in the store after it closes is a great scene! One of my favorites and I was just so overjoyed to see it.
The Cat vs. Miller
Danny Pudi is a comedy genius, and that is only proven further in Flora & Ulysses. Watching the physical comedy as he fights the cat is HILARIOUS — and even more so when you think about the fact that he was fighting with nothing.

Phyllis Breaks Down
After being interviewed for the magazine, Phyllis breaks down and cries. It is at this point that she truly feels as if all hope is lost. Being a mom, this really hit me hard because I could tell where she was coming from.
Phyllis Tries To Make Ulysses Leave
This moment could have tied in with the previous one but I separated them instead. When Phyllis tries to make Ulysses leave, and ends up crying about all her feelings, I get super emotional. She feels like she is shouldering everything and it is hard. She is completely broken down, but Ulysses is there to help.
“How could I forget there is magic in the world when you’re standing right in front of me.”
As a mom this part really gets to me. I too have felt like there is no hope or magic left in this world, but then when I look at my daughters I see it in them. I think being a mom makes this part really emotional for me, and I cry every time I watch it.
They Say Goodbye To Ulysses
Matilda really delivers a powerful performance in this scene. Flora, George, and Phyllis knows that Ulysses must move on to help others after he has finished helping their family, but it is still hard to say goodbye.
George and Phyllis Get Back Together
Who doesn’t love a happy ending? Of course it is very exciting and emotional when George and Phyllis decide to get back together.
