How My Family Gives Back on Giving Tuesday (and How You Can Too!)

giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday is December 3rd this year, and this is a day I look forward to all year long. My family is big on supporting charities, especially local ones. And so Giving Tuesday is something that is important to us. All year long my husband’s work will double any charitable donation made by an employee, but on Giving Tuesday they TRIPLE IT! And T-Mobile does their part in giving back too!

The donations Thank You wall at our local Children’s Museum…

…I donated enough to be featured as Mama’s Geeky

…and personally from myself and my husband.

How My Family Gives Back

Like I said, we love to support our local charities. And one of our favorite places in our small city to give to is the Children’s Museum Of Oswego. This museum started off small, but has grown so much more than I could have ever imagined thanks to donations. Not only do we monetarily donate each year, we also volunteer our time. I have helped out during many different holiday events that they host, and I plan to continue to do so. The kids in our city need a place where they can be kids – and CMOO gives them that.

We also support our daughters’ school. We purchase from every fundraiser, and help out at many events, but we also give them money on Giving Tuesday. These two local places are things that mean something to us, and our children. And if my husband’s work will triple our donation — how can we not give them something — no matter how much it is. Because every little bit helps.

Does your employer match donations on Giving Tuesday? Be sure to find out because if there is any time that makes the most sense to donate, it is when the charity you are supporting can get more for your money. I encourage your to find a local school, or museum, that needs help. Stop by and see if you can volunteer. They might even need something as simple as sharing about an event on social media. I promise, you will feel great doing what you can to help!

You Can Give Back With T-Mobile

I love supporting companies that give back as well, since charity means a lot to us. That is just one of the many reasons that I love T-Mobile. Did you now they partner with Feeding America to provide up to 5 million meals to families in need? How amazing is that?

And you, yes YOU, can join in! This holiday season, more than 37 million Americans will face hunger at home. By donating financial resources, employee volunteer hours, and activating its fans and followers to do their #GivingOnUs, the Un-carrier is stepping up to make a BIG IMPACT at a time when people need it most.

There are two main ways you can give back with T-Mobile this Giving Tuesday:

  • T-Mobile Customers: Save a Deal, Give a Meal. When customers save any deal in the T-Mobile Tuesdays app on Giving Tuesday, T-Mobile will donate a meal to Feeding America.
  • Everyone: Every time anyone tweets the hashtag #GivingOnUs, T-Mobile will contribute 10 meals to Feeding America.

I don’t know about you, but I plan to have my tweeting fingers ready on Giving Tuesday, December 3rd, 2019! What a simple way to make a big impact.

How Else T-Mobile Gives Back

Because #TeamMagenta loves to roll up their sleeves and give back, T-Mobile employees are carrying the spirit of generosity beyond Giving Tuesday and into the entire holiday season. Throughout the final months of 2019 and into the New Year, the Un-carrier is coordinating up to 100 employee volunteer events with local Feeding America-affiliated organizations across the country. The initiative gives T-Mobile employees a way to provide hands-on support to the organizations that are feeding families facing hunger, right in their own backyard.

And that’s not all! To further employee support of the communities and organizations they’re most passionate about, the T-Mobile Foundation will deposit $25 into every employee’s Giving Account, which they can donate to the charity of their choice this holiday season. With 52,000 #TeamMagenta members across the U.S., that adds up to a potential $1.3 million of charitable giving!
