    Febreze Noseblindness

As most of you know, I have a little pug puppy named Khaleesi. She is awesome and so much fun – but she is a puppy. She gets in to everything! She is always trying to get at my daughter’s diapers and other goodies in the trash. When she goes outside, she rolls around in the dirt and just gets smelly. My family and I have definitely developed noseblindness when it comes to her! I know because when we have visitors, they point out the smell, but we don’t even notice it.

So what is “noseblindness”? Well it is simple. It is when you get so used to a smell that you don’t even notice it anymore. This can be quite embarrassing because when you have company, they will notice it. That is called Odor habituation. There is another cause of noseblindness and that is Odor adaptation. This is when you are around a smell long enough that you gain a decrease in ability to sense them. For example, when you first enter a restaurant, the smells of the foods would be quite strong. But as you sit there, they fade and become weaker.

This is where Febreze comes in! They have many different ways to help you out. From odor eliminator sprays, to cleaners, to even air fresheners – they have you covered! Our pug rides with us in the car all the time – plus having two young girls that insist on snacking while we are on trips doesn’t help – so we are huge fans of the car air freshener. Just attach it to your air vent and you don’t have to worry about a stinky car. Febreze Air Effects, Fabric Refresher and Car Vent Clip products meet the standard to appear on the ASPCA’s Pet Friendly Living List, so you can be sure your pets are safe when you’re using Febreze!

I’m a former cat owner and boy do I know about “noseblindness”. Yes people would comment on lingering pet odors and it’s very embarrassing. I wish Febreze was around with my little Ki-ki was living.
