The red carpet world premiere for Captain America: Civil War was earlier this week. I got to walk the carpet as a surprise ending to my #CaptainAmericaEvent press trip and it was amazing. I knew right away that it would soon become a FanGirl Friday feature. As a gigantic Marvel fan, walking this carpet was a dream come true (the whole trip was really). As I sat on my plane just hours after being there with company like Chris Evans, Robert Downy Jr, and Don Cheadle, it all felt surreal.

As I am getting ready to head to LA for the #CaptainAmericaEvent, I cannot help but feel blessed. We are packing so much in to just 4 days in LA. We will be screening 3 movies (Captain America: Civil War, The Jungle Book, & Adventures In Babysitting), getting a behind the scenes look at The Catch, and getting a sneak peak at future episodes of The Real O’Neals & The Family! We will also be interviewing some incredible talent – but I need your help! Bring me some great questions for these guys – please post them in the comments and I will do my best to get them answered for you! Be sure to circle back for my posts about these amazing experiences and to find out the answers to your questions!
The other night I was just hanging out on the couch with my husband when my phone got an email notification. I opened it up and just about dropped my phone. Was I reading it right? I was invited to go screen Marvel’s CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR before it opens in theaters AND attend a press junket where I will be interviewing talent from the film!?! If you know me, than you know how much I love everything Marvel (my Twitter handle is MarvelGoddess24 because of my love for the comics and movies). I have been reading the comics for more years than I can count, and have been loving all of the films over the last several years. After I did a dance around the living room and my husband assured me that we would find a way for me to go, I teared up. I am not ashamed to admit it guys, this is HUGE for me. It totally validates the time I take to run my site, and let’s me know that Disney appreciates me (they are pretty amazing). I don’t have all the details yet, but here is what I do know.
In “Captain America: Civil War,” each hero is forced to take a stand and choose a side in their fight to reform the future. Although the team becomes divided, they remain united by the same goals: the commitment to safeguard humanity, protect the earth at all costs and make the world a better place for future generations. Marvel, continuing to build on the success of the UltimateMentor Adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy: Guardians of Good, and Ant-Man Micro-Tech Challenge, is launching the GIRLS REFORMING THE FUTURE CHALLENGE to engage young women to further the Avengers’ goal of making the world a better place.
I want to start this off by apologizing to you guys. I could have gotten this BRAND NEW Captain America: Civil War trailer to you much quicker by I was too busy watching it over and over. To be fair, I did put it on Facebook and Twitter so maybe you saw it there first. If you are a fan of Marvel Comics, or just the movies, or none of the above – you will love this trailer. There is no way that you cannot be excited about this movie after watching it. The fight scenes, the drama, the characters (watch to the very end) – there are so many amazing things about this trailer. I cannot wait for the film to come out on May 6th, 2016 (oh and you can already grab your tickets here, I have mine!).
I went to see Deadpool this weekend and I just loved it. I am a huge Deadpool fan – his comic has been one of my favorites since as long as I can remember. If you read the comics, you know that he is the only comic book character that actually knows he is a comic book character. I love this about him. It makes for great narration and some incredible Deadpool moments. The film is done in the same way which makes it, well, perfect! And if you know anything about Deadpool then you know Ryan Reynolds was born to portray him. The casting was incredible. The jokes and references were spot on (“McAvoy or Stewart? These time lines are confusing.”) and I couldn’t have been more pleased with this film.
As most of you know I am a giant Marvel fan. I have been reading the comics all my life and so I have been loving the movies that Disney has been releasing. They are doing a fantastic job with the characters and story lines. When they announced Guardians of the Galaxy, I was thrilled. Guardians is probably my favorite Marvel comic book ever. My husband and I have been reading it together for years now and we love everything about it. Star-Lord is one of my favorite characters of all time, for so many reasons. And Chris Pratt played him perfectly. In fact, that movie was cast to perfection – I have zero complaints and that says a lot from someone who has been reading the series since I can remember.
I have been dying to see Deadpool since the moment I found out it was going to be a thing. I knew right away that Ryan Reynolds would be the perfect Deadpool. I have read just about everyone one of the comics and Ryan’s quick wit makes him the ideal actor to play the Merc with a Mouth. But who would play the supporting roles? I was thrilled when I heard that Colossus would be a character in this film because he is one of my favorite characters from the comics. Something about him – maybe the love for his little sister or quite possibly his brute strength has made him stand out to me.
As most of you know I am a HUGE Marvel fan! So imagine how excited I was to hear all about the new “Ask Marvel” video series that gives fans the chance to have their Tweets answered by some of the biggest names from Marvel! Beginning today, Marvel is excited to present an all-new video series devoted to giving fans the chance to have their Tweets answered by some of the actors, creators and names that are synonymous with the House of Ideas with ASK MARVEL.
If you know me, than you know what a big movie lover I am. My husband and I almost always spend our one date night a month at the movies and we take our young daughters at least twice a month to a movie. Every week we have family movie night. I am so excited for this upcoming year of films – can we just talk about Marvel movies for a second? Captain America Civil War and Doctor Strange! Eeek – this Marvel fangirl cannot wait!!
