Sid the Science Kid is an inquisitive little boy who uses comedy to tackle questions kids have about basic scientific principles. Why do things work the way they do? He tries to answer each question and solve problems with the help of his family, Teacher Susie, and his classmates, Gabriela, Gerald, and May. In this third volume, Sid and his friends learn all about simple machines, how animals communicate, the importance of dirt, what makes leaves special, bugs and more! When a wheel falls off of Sid’s favorite toy truck, he tries to tape it back on – but the wheel won’t spin. This leads Sid to wonder, how exactly do wheels work? At school, Sid explores how wheels are simple machines that help move all kinds of items like cars, trains, tricycles and even toy trucks! Let’s invent and investigate with our favorite scientist, Sid the Science Kid!
Summoned by Optimus Prime to save Earth from a new Decepticon threat, Bumblebee puts his light-hearted mettle to the test after assembling a rouge team of Autobots action heroes. Bumblebee must balance his job fighting off evil with being equal parts squad leader and coach to a rascally team that needs constant coaxing to learn how to work together. The results are comical when the cool rebel Sideswipe, elite guard cadet Strongarm, bombastic dinobot Grimlock and overly-excited mini-con Fixit must balance keeping the team together with chasing and capturing their new enemies in each adventure-filled episode.
My daughters love Kate & Mim-Mim. We recently got a DVD of the show and they have been watching it over and over and over – so I was thrilled to find out that the second one is coming out! They love it (of course) and have been watching it with their plush Mim-Mim that they both love so much. My 4 (almost 5 – where does the time go?) year old loves to spin around in circles holding him and pretend that she has been transported to Mimiloo.
My daughters love Mickey Mouse. Maybe some of their mom’s love for Disney has rubbed off on them – OK, it definitely has. We have always been a Disney family and so they love all things Mickey Mouse and friends! Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is one of our favorite shows in our home – it is something we watch together nearly every day. So when the brand new Mickey Moust Clubhouse DVD, Sport-y-thon, arrived at our door, I had two very excited little girls. In fact, I think it was in our home less than 5 minutes before it was open and in the DVD player. My 4 year old immediately noticed the Exclusive Golden Mickey Medal that comes with every DVD and put it on. She was so excited to have a medal just like Mickey and his friends.
Nature Cat tells the story of Fred, a house cat who dreams of exploring the great outdoors. In each episode, once his family leaves for the day, Fred transforms into Nature Cat, “backyard explorer extraordinaire”. Nature Cat can’t wait to get outside for a day of backyard nature excursions and adventures, but there’s one problem: He’s still a house cat with no instincts for nature itself. With the help of his animal friends, Nature Cat embarks on action-packed adventures that include exciting missions full of nature investigation, “aha” discovery moments and humor, all while inspiring children to go outside and “play the show.” Nature Cat’s adventures take him through his family’s big backyard, into the woods, and then into the “four corners” of his natural world: parks, ponds, caves, gardens, marshes, ravines, swamps, canyons, nature preserves and mountains.

To celebrate the DVD debut release of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir this week, I have some amazing coloring sheets featuring the show’s two main characters. Perfect for a superhero super fun weekend activity for the kids! My girls LOVE this show and so they were thrilled when I handed them these pages and some crayons. My 4 year old couldn’t wait to go to school and show her friends!
Preschoolers can climb aboard Trolley and join Daniel Tiger as he goes for a checkup, gets a shot, and helps Mom Tiger when she’s not feeling well. When Daniel visits the doctor for his checkup, he is “one stripe scared” about going. To help Daniel feel better, Mom Tiger talks with him about the visit and sings “when we do something new, let’s talk about what we’ll do.” Other helpful strategies that Daniel and his friends and family use in select stories featured on the DVD include: “when you get hurt, find a grown-up to help you feel better” and “when you’re sick, rest is best.”
The Real O’Neals is one of my favorite shows on TV right now. It airs on ABC Tuesday nights and is well worth a half hour of your time. It is hilarious and I love how they tackle real topics with humor. While in LA a couple weeks ago, I was able to watch two upcoming episodes (one of which is airing tonight) as well as chat with the cast and Executive Producers.
