I grew up watching Disney movies. I am a Disney girl through and through. One of my absolute favorite movies was Pinocchio. I watched it over and over when I was a little girl – even though some parts were a little scary to me. So, of course, finding out that it was being released on Blu-ray and Disney Movies Anywhere for the first time ever, I was thrilled. I was so excited to be able to share Pinocchio with my two young daughters (they are 4 and 5). I was not sure how they would feel about it – they are spoiled with the new stuff. I suppose I was not surprised when they absolutely loved it. We received and advance copy and have watched it at least 15 times already.

I grew up loving Beauty and the Beast. I have watched it at least 100 times. Belle has always been my favorite Disney Princess – and I am not sure anyone will top her on my list. When I was a little girl, you could always find me with my nose in a book, which is why I think I relate to her so well. Ever since Disney announced they were making a live action Beauty and the Beast, I have been dying to see it. Every time they release a trailer or image, I grow more and more excited. Well, they just released the final trailer during The Bachelor tonight and I was blown away! I got chills and my eyes teared up – it is going to be amazing folks! Watch it here.

I love inspirational and heartwarming movies. Especially those that empower women. That is what I got with Queen of Katwe. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to see it when it was in theaters last year because it did not play in my little local theater (the down side to living in upstate New York). So when I received an advance copy courtesy of Disney, I could barely wait to watch it. I had been told about it and had read about it, but nothing could prepare me for how much I would enjoy this film. If you like feel good movies based on true stories – this one is for you.

On Jan. 24, DreamWorks Pictures’ “The Light Between Oceans,” a lush, classical romance, starring two-time Academy Award® nominee Michael Fassbender (Best Actor, Steve Jobs), Oscar® winner Alicia Vikander (Best Supporting Actress, The Danish Girl), and Oscar and Golden Globe® winner Rachel Weisz (Best Supporting Actress, The Constant Gardener), arrives home on Digital HD, Blu-ray™, DVD and On-Demand. The mesmerizingly beautiful film is based on the 2012 best-selling novel by M.L. Stedman, which swept readers away with its transporting story of fate, love, moral dilemmas and the lengths one couple will go to see their hard-fought dreams realized.

Dive into a magical adventure the whole family will enjoy when Guardians of Oz arrives on DVD, Digital HD and On Demand January 24 from Lionsgate. The world of Oz is fantastically recreated with story and character design by Golden Globe®-nominated filmmaker Jorge Gutiérrez (The Book of Life). Starring YouTube sensations @jennxpenn and Mikey Bolts, the classic tale is revamped into delightful animation featuring new characters in an original story. It even earned the Dove Foundation’s seal of approval. My girls and I were thrilled to receive an advance copy.

I have always dreamed of being able to visit The Walt Disney Family Museum because I am a Disney fanatic. So imagine how excited I was to find out that as part of the #RogueOneEvent trip I was taking to San Francisco in December, we would be going! I grew up watching Disney movies and going to Disney World for family vacations – and now I take my family to Disney World at least once a year. So this was going to be a really special experience for me – and it was. I laughed, I smiled, and I cried (I mean sobbed – just as Joyce from Women and Their Pretties – she was sobbing with me) while I was there.

Public Media Distribution is re-releasing the Oscar-nominated The Gruffalo and the sequel The Gruffalo’s Child on DVD January 10 – and I for one, could not be any more excited! These are two of my favorite movies and I was super excited to share them with my young daughters! We were so lucky to receive advanced copies and we watched them together as a family. My girls are totally in love with The Gruffalo now! I plan to pick them up copies of the books ASAP.

This year is going to be another incredible year of films from Walt Disney Studios. There is not one movie on their slate that I am not excited to see. There isn’t even a way to rank them in order of my excitement (I literally just tried four times and had to keep rewriting my list). Here is what Walt Disney Studios has in store for us in 2017 – and hold on to your hats because it is amazing!

I knew that our interview with Gareth Edwards, the director of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, would be great from the first sentence he spoke when he walked in, “I just passed Riz and he said they are all so nice!”. Gareth had introduced the 28 minutes of the film that we saw the night before, and I had been really looking forward to speaking with him. The interview did not disappoint.

I feel so lucky that I got to sit down and chat with Riz Ahmed about his role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story while at the LucasFilm Headquarters earlier this month. In case you missed it, he is a Golden Globe Nominee, guys! That means he is super good at what he does – so I was thrilled that he joined the cast of Star Wars. His interview was one of my favorites of the day.
