The Killer’s Game is an extremely fun movie that deserves to be seen on the big screen. It is the perfect combination of action, romance, and comedy.
The Killer’s Game is one of the most fun times audiences will have at the theaters all year. Dave Bautista stars as a hitman named Joe who discovers he is dying. Preferring to go out on his own terms, he puts a hit out on himself. When he realizes he was misdiagnosed, he tries to cancel the hit but to no avail.
On top of all of this, he has finally found the woman of his dreams (played by Sofia Boutella). This action-romance-comedy is an absolute blast that was made to be seen on the biggest screen possible.
Bautista and Boutella have incredible chemisty in this film. From the very first moment they lay eyes on each other, it is clear that there is a spark there. They are so connected that it becomes impossible for the audience not to root for them. You will feel it in your bones to wish them all the happiness in the world, which is a feeling that just gets stronger and stronger throughout the movie.
When it comes to the cinematography in The Killer’s Game, there are some truly epic sequences. The action is top notch, which should come as no surprise when you see the cast list. The kills are so much fun – almost John Wick style – where surroundings are utilized in the most unique, bloody, and exciting ways. They will have you cheering, covering your face, and shouting – yes, they are that much fun to watch.
There is one part in particular that flips back and forth between the two sides of Joe’s life – his dates with Maize and his hits. This is done BRILLIANTLY and is one of the most unforgettable parts of this movie.
Pom Klementieff and Dave Bautista reunite in The Killer’s Game. Her character is the one who ultimately puts the hit out on Joe, and refuses to take it off. She does not like him for reasons she believes are justified. She delivers on a lot of the comedic moments, and it is great to see these two reunite after Guardians of the Galaxy.
Terry Crews is another memorable supporting character, who is easily one of the funniest as well. He plays one of the hitmen out to get Joe, even though he likes him as a person, which makes their relationship quite interesting. They are a lot of fun together, especially in the third act.
Dave Bautista is known as an action star, but getting to see this more vulnerable side of him is sure to unlock something inside of viewers. He is lovable and adorable and, dare I say it, sexy. He and Sofia Boutella are fire together. It seems easy for them, which makes their connection all that more believable and relatable.
The Killer’s Game, which is based on a book, is the perfect combination between action, romance, and comedy. There are several laugh out loud moments, epic and unforgettable fight sequences, and a love story that will have you holding your heart and rooting for the good guys to win. While some twists land more on the predicatable side, The Killer’s Game is whole lot of fun to watch play out. I promise, there are surprises in store for everyone.
