Filming is underway for You season 4 in London, but following the explosive series 3 finale, is trouble looming for Netflix’s resident stalker?

you season 4 what we know and predictions

Series star, Penn Badgley, has been spotted lurking around set donning a fresh look as shooting for You continues. At the end of season 3, Joe (Badgley) murders his psychotic wife, Love (Victoria Pedretti), fakes his own death, and frames Love, all before bailing to Paris in pursuit of latest person of interest, Marienne (Tati Gabrielle). Now, Joe is living under another alias and appears be jumping around Europe, landing in London – if filming locations are anything to go by.

Joe has apparently left his whole life behind, including infant son, Henry. The fourth chapter will introduce a list of new faces onto his path of destruction. Lukas Gage (The White Lotus) and Charlotte Ritchie (Ghosts; Fresh Meat) are among the regulars joining Badgley while Sean Pertwee (Gotham) is booked for a recurring role. Between the trio of newbies and Marienne’s confirmed return, could they signal danger for Joe’s latest venture?

Marienne was last seen in a tense confrontation with Love, who warns her of Joe’s true nature. Whether Marienne believes her is unclear, but she does jump ship to another country. Love’s sudden demise may raise suspicion to Marienne should she catch wind of it, especially if she runs into a presumed dead Joe Goldberg. It would sure look a little creepy if he just so happens to look for a new start in the exact same place she is. Although, his cover is less likely to be blown with Marienne for this very reason, and her attempt to expose him might result in a tragic end.

There appears to be a new girl on the block, which further fuels speculation that Marienne will find herself in the glass box. Ritchie’s Kate is described as protective, aloof and immediately distrusts Joe – almost like Peach Salinger (Shay Mitchell) yet somehow more intense. She senses something is not quite with her boyfriend’s, Malcolm (Stephen Hagan), new companion, and Joe certainly has a longwinded trail of incriminating evidence behind him. It sounds like this stalker-turned-killer will finally meet his match and be put to the test when Kate starts snooping around.

What could be Joe’s downfall? Aside from the fact that he’s blatantly (and messily) murdered several characters – it’s a wonder he’s dodged handcuffs for this long – Joe is careless when it comes to a clean up. A major side arc in the first season involves a cup of urine left behind in Peach’s house. It still sits there to this day.

Someone is bound to get curious about the mysterious jar in an equally mysterious crime scene, case closed or not. Then of course, Beck (Elizabeth Lail) and Love’s deaths and Henry’s abandonment – there’s no trace of the young boy in the house, instead being conveniently dropped off at a neighbor’s. All it would take is for Kate to do minimal research before she connects the dots to Joe.

    you season 3

When Love and Joe try to reignite their spark, they make it clear they don’t trust one another. Love is unpredictable, even to Joe, and her husband is still in the dark about Delilah (Carmela Zumbado) and Candace’s (Ambyr Childers) whereabouts – both of whom Love murdered. The secrecy around their location could have been insurance of sorts for Love, and more unexplained disappearances for Kate to research.

Knowing the pair’s respective connection to Joe, Love has proven that she can outsmart her husband, and she could have a plan in place ready to frame him. It’s a stretch for sure considering Love had no idea Joe would’ve pulled the switch on her in season 3, but it’d be pretty satisfying to see her get the last laugh against him.

Another party may also enter the game – in an increasingly unlikely situation. Jenna Ortega’s Ellie, who appears in the show’s second season, is shipped off by Joe to conceal his involvement with Delilah’s murder. This could be another case of Joe being recognized, however, with Ortega’s rise to fame and high demand, a reprisal might not be on the cards.

As a release date hasn’t been set just yet, fans can continue to speculate a whirlwind of theories about Joe – and everything they’d like to see happen. Badgley’s charismatic creep may have wormed his way through the cracks for now, but it looks like his time is limited, and London might be the last stop on his journey.

You Season 4 is coming to Netflix soon.
