The Netflix 2022 movie slate proves they are going nowhere in the original film game. Here are just some of the 2022 Netflix movies we can’t wait for!
Netflix released its slate of 2022 movies on Thursday, and it’s safe to say it’s going to be a stacked year. Almost any major Hollywood celebrity you can think of is in one of these movies, and by the looks of some of them, these actors are going on a lot of adventures, and misadventures.
2022 Netflix Movies We Can’t Wait For
Here’s just a few of the films we can’t wait to see this year.
“Knives Out 2”
Starring: Daniel Craig, Ethan Hawke, Dave Bautista, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Kate Hudson, Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline
Get ready for the knives to be OUT once again. Following up on Rian Johnson’s hit murder mystery from 2019, Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is back, but trouble is never too far away. This time, he and a new bunch of misfits are setting sail in Greece.
Though they all may look innocent, there’s no doubt there’s evil lurking beneath all of them. Not only will we get to hear that iconic Blanc draw, but there’s sure to be a whole lot of ridiculous behavior from this star-studded cast, which includes Ethan Hawke, Dave Bautista, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr. and Kate Hudson.
“The Gray Man”
Starring: Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, Regé-Jean Page, Billy Bob Thornton
Once he was the “First Man,” now he’s “The Gray Man.” Ryan Gosling returns to the big screen for the first time in four years in this action-packed film written and directed by the Russo brothers (which is based on a 2009 novel by Mark Greaney).
When the CIA’s most skilled mercenary (Gosling) – whose true identity is a mystery – uncovers dark agency secrets, a psychopathic former colleague (Chris Evans) takes out a bounty on him, leading to a global manhunt. If anyone knows how to handle crazy action scenes it’s the brothers behind many Marvel hits, so we can expect lots of excitement with this project. Not to mention, this cast isn’t so bad to look at either.

“The School for Good and Evil”
Starring: Charlize Theron, Kerry Washington, Laurence Fishburne, Michelle Yeoh, Ben Kingsley, Patti LuPone
Charlize Theron in an orange wig, Kerry Washington in all gold. I’m sold. Director Paul Feig brings us a magical universe in “The School for Good and Evil,” where two friends, Sophie (Sophia Anne Caruso) and Agatha (Sofia Wylie), “find themselves on opposing sides of a modern fairy tale.”
In their enchanted school, heroes and villains are trained to maintain the balance of good and evil in the world. As a “Harry Potter” nerd, I’m ready to dive into a new magical school, and with this amazing cast, that also includes Laurence Fishburne, Michelle Yeoh, Ben Kingsley and Patti LuPone, it’s going to be full of fun.
“Pinocchio”
Starring: Cate Blanchett, Ron Perlman, Ewan McGregor, David Bradley, Finn Wolfhard, Christoph Waltz, Tilda Swinton, Gregory Mann
Academy Award-winner Guillermo del Toro is reimagining the classic tale “Pinocchio” as a stop-motion musical. Fans got a sneak preview at the fun last week and already del Toro’s take on the wooden marionette brought to life to soothe Geppetto’s grief looks exciting. His previous animated work is solid, but this one looks like it’ll be a standout.
“The Mothership”
Starring: Halle Berry, Omari Hardwick, Jaiden J. Smith, Quinn McPherson
Halle Berry, off of her directorial debut “Bruised,” is back in the sci-fi adventure “The Mothership.” The story follows Sara Morse (Berry) one year after her husband (Omari Hardwick) mysteriously vanished from their farm.
When she discovers an extraterrestrial object underneath her home, Sara and her kids (Jaiden J. Smith and Quinn McPherson) decide to search for their loved one and figure out the truth. I’d follow Berry on any adventure and on any corner of the planet, so I’ll be glued to my TV with this one.

“The Adam Project”
Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Zoe Saldaña, Catherine Keener, Walker Scobell, Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner
Keeping up with the sci-fi theme is “The Adam Project.” Ryan Reynolds stars as a time-traveling pilot who teams up with his younger self and his late father (Mark Ruffalo) “to come to terms with his past while saving the future.”
If there’s anyone who can save the world from destruction, while still throwing in a little bit of humor, it’s Reynolds. “13 Going On 30” fans, like me, will also appreciate a reunion between Jennifer Garner and Ruffalo.

“Day Shift”
Starring: Jamie Foxx, Snoop Dogg, Dave Franco, Meagan Good and Natasha Liu Bordizzo
It’s a vampire hunting movie with Jamie Foxx and Snoop Dogg, do you really need to know anything else? Well, if you do, Foxx plays a San Fernando Valley pool cleaner by day as a front, but really he’s a vampire hunter for an international union. There’s no way this won’t be a fun time.
The film also stars Dave Franco, Meagan Good and Natasha Liu Bordizzo.

“Wendell & Wild”
Starring: Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele
Jordan Peele has one of the most creative minds in the business, and his long-time work with Keegan-Michael Key is always comedy gold, so “Wendell & Wild,” written by Henry Selick and Peele, is sure to be great.
This animated film focuses on “scheming demon brothers Wendell (Key) and Wild (Peele) — who enlist the aid of 13-year-old Kat Elliot — a tough teen with a load of guilt — to summon them to the Land of the Living.” But of course there are misadventures when a teenager is involved, which is bound to cause some belly laughs.
