During the WandaVision press junket a lot of behind the scenes information was dropped, including these fun facts about the series!

WandaVision is the start of Phase 4 of the MCU. It is also the first Marvel Studio’s television show. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t as important as the Marvel feature films. This 9 episode series is weird, fun, and as I have said before, banana pants crazy! But it is also simply amazing. A great reintroduction into the MCU after way too long a break.

    Participating Talent:

    • Elizabeth Olsen (“Wanda Maximoff”)
    • Paul Bettany (“Vision”)
    • Teyonah Parris (“Monica Rambeau”)
    • Kathryn Hahn (“Agnes”)
    • Matt Shakman (Director)
    • Jac Schaeffer (Head Writer)
    • Kevin Feige (Producer)

    WandaVision Fun Facts

During the WandaVision press junket I learned a lot of fun facts about this show. It was so great to see the cast and the geniuses from behind the camera discuss this new venture for Marvel. Something that is surely unprecedented.

Here are my favorite fun facts from the interview, but be sure to check out all of my WandaVision coverage here and on twitter.

    • Katheryn Hahn has had a “nosey neighbor” herself. One that comes over unannounced, at always the wrong moment.
    • Elizabeth Olsen cannot wiggle her nose, so for the Bewitched inspired episode she waves her hand instead.
    • Kevin Feige says Elizabeth Olsen‘s ties to the sitcom era didn’t hit him until he was in the writer’s room surrounded by photos of Full House.
    • WandaVision will give us a look at what Monia Rambeau has been up to since Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris confirmed.
    • Jac Schaeffer says there is a larger puzzle to what this show is, but she can’t reveal it!
    • Kathryn Hahn likes the sitcom feel of WandaVision – “There is the set up, the misunderstanding, and the resolution.“
    • Matt Shakman says there was a dialect coach on set to make sure that during each era, they were using the correct dialect.
    • Kevin Feige says that WandaVision took the weekly release from The Mandalorian — which fuels weekly discussions on the series.
    • The cast and crew watched a lot of old comedy shows to help them study how comedy has changed over the years.
    • Elizabeth Olsen says that filming in front of a live audience confused her brain! She said it was very nerve-wracking and there were a lot of quick changes. She also told us how Wanda would describe WandaVision.
    • The Hydra commercials in each episode are the way of reality breaking through. Long time Marvel fans will be able to piece this together while new fans will simply be entertained by their presence says Kevin Feige.
    • Paul Bettany says that Vision “exists for Wanda.“
    • The Twilight Zone is a heavy inspiration for the show. Jac Shaeffer adds you think one thing is happening, and then it completely changes.

    About WandaVision

Starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, “WandaVision” marks the first series from Marvel Studios streaming exclusively on Disney+. The series is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision – two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives – begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems. Key art and new images are also available now.

WandaVision comes to Disney+ on January 15th!
