When I first saw the trailer for Little, I was cracking up. I thought it looked really cute, although it is a theme we have seen over and over again. Someone becomes a younger version of themselves (or someone else) and it helps them to learn the error of their ways. Still, Little is a worth a watch – especially if you like laughing!
As soon as I pressed play on the Blu-ray (we never did get around to seeing it in theaters), I was excited. It seemed like I was going to be whisked away for about two hours, and I was. Honestly, it was nice watching it at home because I paused it a few times while I did things around the house.
Which tells me – it wasn’t THAT good a movie. If I was pausing it because I realized something needed to be done, or to get up and go to the bathroom, or grab a snack, it clearly didn’t hold my attention completely. But it is really cute – and I belly laughed a few times.
Funny and Cute
Parts of this movie and a little boring, and a little slow, but overall? This movie is pretty darn hilarious. I loved Justin Hartley’s character – most of his scenes had me chuckling. There were a few moments I laughed out loud – but most were in my head, if that makes sense? Still, this movie is super cute, and I enjoyed it.
A Bit Predictable
I try to be spoiler free in most of my reviews (unless they are marked spoiler), so I will just say that this movie is predictable. Most movies like this, you know what it going to happen. This one was no different for me. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy the ride.
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting this to be a ground-braking, Emmy award nominated film, so I took it for what it was. A cute comedy. If you go in wanting to have fun, you will. Trust me.
Overall Thoughts
Overall, I think that Little is worth a watch. Pop it in on a Friday night, enjoy it with a glass of wine and dessert. You will laugh. And you will enjoy it. Did I love it? No. But am I glad I watched it? Yup. Will I watch it again? Almost definitely not. I recommend renting it online to watch, but if you are a collector like me, go ahead and pick up the Blu-ray or DVD.
Bonus Features
I know I sound like a broken record here, but my favorite part about a home release is the bonus features. Especially when they include a gag reel! That almost always has be cracking up! In this case, I really enjoyed the gag reel – that is a must watch if you purchase Little.

Marsai Martin (TV’s Black-ish) stars in and executive produces Universal Pictures’ LITTLE, a comedy from producer Will Packer (Girls Trip, Ride Along and Think Like a Man series) based on an idea the young actress pitched.
