    Deadpool Merc with a Mouth

The first Deadpool movie was pretty spot on to the comic books, and I don’t expect the second to be any different. He is all about violence, bad language, breaking the 4th wall, and yes, even sex. In fact, one of my favorite story lines in the comics includes him carrying around a zombie head of himself from another time line. I highly recommend that parents know what they are getting in to when taking their kids to see Deadpool 2. Do your research and, if possible, view the film before letting them see it.

    Language

Deadpool isn’t called the Merc with a Mouth for nothing. Even in the comic books, he has quite the mouth on him. Deadpool 2 is R-rated for a reason. Every parent knows their children and how sensitive they are to language. For example, my daughters are young, but my 7 year old would be fine watching this movie and not repeating any words they hear. Probably my 5 year old as well. My husband was a sailor, and still cusses like one – and my mouth isn’t that clean either. So for us, language is not an issue with this movie, but if language is an issue for your kids, keep in mind, there will be a lot of it.

    Violence

Deadpool has always been one of my favorite comics, probably partly because of the violence. I know a big part of why I love this comic is that he breaks the 4th all the time too. But back to the violence – in the comic books, it gets bloody. He stabs people, cuts limbs off, blows them up with bombs. Readers see a lot (and I mean a lot) of blood and guts. Because Deadpool cannot die (not really) he tends to get pretty banged up. In Deadpool we saw a lot of violence, and with bringing in X-Force now, I imagine it will be even worse (or better – depending on your view on violence) in Deadpool 2.

    Sex

In Deadpool comic books, pretty much every female looks like what you see above. Huge boobs, scantily clad, and of course, Deadpool is always trying to make out with her. In the first Deadpool movie, there is a solid five minutes (perhaps longer) where Wade Wilson (prior to becoming Deadpool) celebrate different holidays with different sexcapades. I can only imagine there will be something like this in Deadpool 2 as well. There will for sure be sexual references. If your child is mature enough for these, fine, but please take this in to consideration before bringing them to the theater. If it wasn’t for scenes like this, my 7 year old would probably be fine seeing this movie. The sex puts it over the top for me.
