Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock Live Review

Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock Live brings the world of the Fraggles to life in their first ever live stage show – and it is absolutely worth seeing!

Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock Live Review

The Fraggle Rock universe has expanded with a live stage show that is traveling the country. If you are a fan of the series – either the classic 1980s version or the new Apple TV+ series – I highly recommend checking the show out when it comes to a city near you.

Filled with magic and wonder, this show transports the audience to Fraggle Rock, where you will dance your cares away and become an honorary Fraggle. Go on a journey with Gobo, Boober, Wembly, Red, and Mokey as you search for the pieces of the Celebration Stone through locations that are familiar with all Fraggle fans.

Of course, the Doozers make appearances throughout the night, as do several others that attendees will be happy to see.

Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock Live Review

As stated, Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock Live features many fan favorite characters, which will have new and old fans thrilled. Marjory the Trash Heap has been a personal favorite of mine since the cartoon from the 1980’s. Of course I have loved seeing her as part of the Apple TV+ series but was even more excited to see her on stage during this show. Her song is fantastic, of course, and she brings a lot of laughs. Not to mention, her design is really impressive.

Speaking of favorites, Junior Gorg also makes an appearance in the live show. I was curious how this was going to be done because of his size in comparison to the Fraggles, but it was handled brilliantly. Junior is on the screen but his hand reaches in and out at certain times, depending on his interactions with Red, Gobo, Boober, Mokey, and Wembly. Whoever came up with this plan deserves a lot of praise, because it works seemlessly and will not have children questioning what is and isn’t real.

Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock Live Review

Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock Live is an experience that the whole family will enjoy. The show is packed with familiar songs and fun callbacks to the series. The choreography is impressive, especially considering the costumes that these performers have to be in – they have tails and yet they never bump into one another. The look of the Fraggles is especially impressive, right down to every last detail. It truly feels as if the puppets have been brought to life.

Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock Live might lean towards a younger audience, but anyone who has a place in their hearts for the Fraggles will have a wonderful evening filled with joy and laughter – something the world could use a little bit more of these days.
