After stellar reviews from both critics and fans, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is going to be available to take home on digital January 21st. The franchise is growing, with Sonic the Hedgehog 4 already confirmed to be coming in 2027.
In this interview with the voice of Tails, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, she reveals what her favorite thing from Sonic lore that is included in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is. She also details what she wants for Tails in the Sonic 4 and beyond. O’Shaughnessey gives us her reaction to seeing Amy Rose and Metal Sonic in the end-credit scenes – and confesses that she knew it was coming.

Tessa Smith: What is your favorite Easter egg or Sonic reference in Sonic 3?
Colleen O’Shaughnessey: I mean, this isn’t really an Easter egg. It’s pretty blatant, but the Choa Garden, I loved it so much. It was so much fun. I’m like, oh my gosh, they did the whole thing. Then the show and Tails couldn’t be more excited. It was really so much fun. I love that they threw that in there. It was so perfect.

Colleen O’Shaughnessey: I did, I did. I knew. But I didn’t know how they were going to do it. I didn’t know how the scene would end up. I thought they did such a great job, because I think originally she was going to say something, and then she didn’t say anything, which I think was perfect. She didn’t need to say anything,

Tessa Smith: What would you like to see for Tails in Sonic the Hedgehog 4?
Colleen O’Shaughnessey: I think just more. More and more, like, I feel like in this one he really has, his confidence is certainly way higher than it was in the second. I think we could even go further, and more gadgets, and a more integral part of the team. He swoops in and saves the day quite a few times.
