Star Wars: Tales of the Empire fills in some blanks during an exciting period in Star Wars lore. Viewers will be thrilled to further explore Morgan Elsbeth and Barriss Offee.

Star Wars: Tales of the Empire is comprised of six short episodes, ranging from ten to fifteen minutes, that further explore an exciting time in Star Wars lore, heavily focusing on Morgan Elsbeth and Barriss Offee. Fans are treated to epic light battles, including some unforgettable lightsaber duels, as well as stories that fill in the blanks of what the galaxy was up to during this time.

Coming from the mind of Dave Filoni it should come as no surprise that this checks box after box after box for Star Wars fans. While the focus is on these two women, there are some fan favorite cameos and a lot of exciting reveals and inclusions of what is happening in the rest of the galaxy.

Both Barriss Offee and Morgan Elsbeth have ties to Ahsoka, who is one of the most popular characters in all of Star Wars fandom. They both dabble on the dark side and as someone who loves a good villain, and always enjoys seeing what the Empire has up their sleeve, that only made this series all that more exciting.

Star Wars: Tales of the Empire is much like its predecessor, Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, in that it follows a small amount of characters, but is never afraid to give the bigger picture. The series as a whole flies by, clocking in at just over an hour in length when watched back to back. It allows viewers a bit more insight as to where Barriss and Morgan come from, which will be exciting to fans of theirs.

While it would be hard to call this essential viewing in order to understand Star Wars, it is more than worth watching. This is a series based on the Dark Side so it has its fair share of gloom and doom. There is very little humor and it delivers epic action sequences and high stakes.

The visuals are goregous thanks to the stunning animation style that is used. Star Wars: Tales of the Empire is peak Star Wars and something every fan should tune in for on May 4th on Disney+.
