Netflix’s Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Movie debuts first trailer where a it seems the origin of Ladybug will be revealed.
The first feature film from the Miraculous franchise, Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Movie, has debuted its first trailer. Fans of the series know that the Miraculous story follows Marinette and Adrien. They might seem like normal teenagers, but they both have secrets. Their lives are entangled more than they know, as they are both superheroes that often work together to fight crime in Paris.
The Netflix movie, which releases July 21st, touches more on the origin story of Ladybug, and how Marinette came to take on her alter ego. She realizes she is not the only one, when she meets Cat Noir, Adrien’s superhero alter ego.
The film was announced in 2018, but production began in 2019, with confirmation that the plot will explore the origins of the franchise. Jeremy Zag was confirmed as director and co-writer with Bettina Lopez Mendoza. Zag also serves as a producer through ZAG Inc. under The Awakening Production banner, with ON Animation Studios and SND, the latter also serving as distributor.
“I grew up in the 1980s watching Japanese anime, Disney animated classics and superhero fare from the U.S., as well as classic family movies directed by the likes of Steven Spielberg and Chris Columbus. You can see all those influences in our movie. The DNA of the movie is quite special, so the final result is a mix of mainstream adventures — it’s sometimes spooky and often spectacular with big action sequences like Marvel films and musical elements like everyone’s favorite Disney movies.” – Director / Writer Jeremy Zag
Fans all over the world are excited for the first feature film featuring the two, and by the looks of the trailer, it will not disappoint. Expanding the franchise only means more Ladybug and Cat Noir for everyone.
