The Mandalorian Season 3 kicks off with incredible action, a slew of fan favorite characters, and adorable Grogu moments. This review is based solely off of the first two episode of The Mandalorian season 3.

The Mandalorian has been dubbed as the best of the Star Wars series and it continues to prove that with a phenomenal beginning to season 3. Fans will be welcomed back into this world and it will only take seconds before they realize just how much they missed Grogu, Din, and a whole slew of fan favorite characters who show up for the fun.
This season starts off extremely strong. Not only does it waste no time getting to the action, it sets up for an interesting story. We all know that Din has lost his honor because he removed his helmet. He is told that he is no longer considered a Mandalorian and so he is determined to go to Mandalore, bathe in the living waters, and be welcomed back into the clan.
The first episode of The Mandalorian Season 3 sees the start of this journey. He is going to have to meet with a lot of old friends, and might even make some new enemies, along the way. As much as there is a lot of set up in The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 1, it has some great stand alone moments as well.
There is humor that is not only delivered by Grogu, although he certainly is the majority of the comedic relief. Multiple action sequences are included in the first two episodes, each of which is accompanied by a score that will give viewers goosebumps.

What Works
The first two episodes of The Mandalorian season 3 is not all fun and games though. There are already some high stakes in Din’s journey, which bring several cheer-worthy moments. Fans will be on the edge of their seats as they wait with bated breath to see what happens next.
Yes, there are a few jumpy moments too as the beasts and critters that are revealed in this season can be on the terrifying side. The Mandalorian is back and it is easy to see why this is such a beloved series. It has not missed a beat and the second the first episode starts, fans will be thrilled to be back in this amazing world.
The Mandalorian has always been great with pacing, and that is something that remains true with season 3. Episodes 1 and 2 flow perfectly together, with not a single moment dragging things down. Things are intense and exciting right from the very start and we can only imagine it is going to get even better.
Thankfully, for those characters we don’t see pop up, we are given a brief recap as to where they are, and why we might not see them for a while. Yes, Cara Dune’s absence is addressed and yes, it makes perfect sense. There was no need to dwell on that and leave it as a mystery.

What Doesn’t Work
Probably the biggest issue, especially when it comes to The Mandalorian Season 3 episode 1, is that it feels very short. It clocks in at just 38 minutes including credits, however a lot happens.
If you actually think about what went down in this episode, there was action right from the start, a visit to an old friend that leads to laughs and creating a new enemy, another fan favorite appearance, and the groundwork is laid for the journey that Din must go on.
Part of the reason it feels so quick is because the pacing is on point and it flows from one idea to the next in an exciting and entertaining way. Then when the credits roll, you almost think, wait.. what? That’s it? But if you look at all that this episode has to offer, it is jam packed.

Overall Thoughts
If The Mandalorian season 3 episodes 1 and 2 are any indication as to how the rest of this season will go, fans are going to be absolutely thrilled. It wastes no time giving viewers action, humor, and a bunch of characters that we know and love.
There is an important story being set up here. We all know that Din is on the path to redemption after removing his helmet, but nobody was expecting things to move this quickly (and yes, it really works!). This is only the beginning, and we cannot wait to see what comes next.
