Antony Starr admits that Homelander is actually the weakest person on The Boys, and not the strongest as most viewers think.

Antony Starr plays Homelander on Prime Video’s The Boys, and with season 3 about to release, he admits that his character is actually the weakest member of The Seven, and perhaps even the weakest on the entire show. During an interview, Starr says that everyone on this show wears mask, and is covering something up or hiding something. Homelander is no different.
“Homelander is basically the weakest character in the show. So he’s constantly covering that up and covering up the fact that he’s actually incredibly vulnerable, and ultimately weak, even though he’s the physically strongest person on the show.” Starr admits. He continues on to say that it is a lot of fun to portray him, and to keep this vulnerability just under the surface in his performance.

The Boys is unafraid to push the envelope, and to take things to new levels. They don’t shy away from reality, and the dark side of things, particularly politics. Starr says that is the good thing about this show. Homelander has a lot of added layers, and it is the best of both worlds for him to get to portray him on the screen.
Considering how much of the real world The Boys adds into the stories, viewers could easily become desensitized to these types of characters. They might seem over the top, but they are also quite relatable to the world we are living in. This is where the weakness comes into play, almost making audiences feel bad for Homelander, despite his horrible actions at times.
