The Last Kids On Earth and the Staff of Doom is a video game that fans of the series are sure to love, and have a blast playing.
The Last Kids On Earth is one of the best cartoons on Netflix thanks to the story, the monsters, the post-apocalyptic setting, and the incredible voice acting. Now it gets even better because it is a video game! The Last Kids On Earth and the Staff of Doom is available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and XBox One, and fans of the series are sure to have a blast playing it.
This video game is heavily based off of the television series, which is based on a set of books. Because of this the characters, monsters, and settings are easily recognizable for fans. In the game, players can select one of four of their favorite characters, and hit the streets of Wakefield to take on monsters and zombies.
What We Love About This Game
There is so much to love about this game — especially if you are already a fan of The Last Kids On Earth. This game features the same voice actors, making it a seamless transition from the show. Players get to choose the character you play as AND it is a couch co-op game which means you can play with up to four people all together!
There are not enough fun couch co-op games so this is a huge deal for families that like to game together. Playable character options are the tornado of cool Jack, self-made scientist Quint, the cool and sarcastic June or Dirk, the tough guy who loves tending his garden.
Another great part of the game is that you can upgrade your character as you go, making sure that players become heavily invested in them. You start out as a scrappy survivor but as the game goes on you collect blueprints and items to help you craft and upgrade your equipment, abilities, the treehouse, and your getaway car Big Mama to Legendary levels of power.
Of course, the kids aren’t alone. Players can summon fan favorites from the series like canine monster Rover, horned ogre Biggun, Skaelka the warrior, and the sword-wielding sorcerer Bardle, to help them take on the threats. The best part? Your allies’ attacks, damage radius, speed, and more can be upgraded as well.
What We Don’t Like About This Game
While there is a whole lot to love about The Last Kids On Earth and the Staff of Doom, there are also a couple of drawbacks. The graphics are not the best, and at launch it was a bit glitchy. That seems to have improved now though with updates, and it should be kept in mind that bugs are very common at initial release in video games.
Overall Thoughts
The Last Kids On Earth and the Staff of Doom video game is a ton of fun for fans of the series, but is likely to be a hit even with those who don’t know the show but enjoy couch co-op adventures. This game is perfect for families that like to game together, or even friends who do!
It is a great summer game that can be played for hours on end while you search the town, battle monsters and zombies, and upgrade your characters and more to legendary status.
