Truth Seekers is a creepy supernatural comedy that will have you cracking up one minute, and hiding under your blanket the next.

Everyone knows that Simon Pegg and Nick Frost make a fantastic team, so when I first heard about their new show, Truth Seekers, I was instantly interested. The entire first season, which is coming to Amazon Prime Video just in time for Halloween, takes only four hours to binge-watch — and I highly recommend it. The perfect combination between comedy and creepy, Truth Seekers is sure to impress.

While there is a bit of a creepy factor to it, Truth Seekers is ultimately a comedy. The chemistry  between the two main characters, Gus (Nick Frost) and Elton (Kayo), totally makes the show. In Truth Seekers, Gus is a broadband specialist for SMYLE. He is given a new trainee, Elton, even though he does not want one at all. Their boss is Dave, played by Simon Pegg. While he is fantastic during the scenes he is, there is not nearly enough Simon Pegg in the show.

What starts off as a rocky relationship ends up becoming one of my favorite television friendships. Gus and Elton made quite the team of ghost hunters! Gus has a supernatural themed YouTube Channel and he quickly takes Elton under his wing to help him investigate supernatural events. The pair are soon joined by Astrid, played by Emma D’Arcy.

While each episode of Truth Seekers contains its own supernatural event, they do tie together for a cohesive season. I am always a big fan of shows like this because they keep you entertained through the whole thing. This season is short, with only eight thirty minute episodes, but still I never once got bored or confused.

There are certainly a lot of creepy moments — especially when it comes to ghosts and the supernatural, but I found myself laughing a lot more than I expected to. Malcolm McDowell is such a great addition to the cast, providing a lot of the comic relief. He is also a lot more important to the story than you might imagine at first.

The typical Pegg and Frost filming styles and editing cuts are present, which made me really happy to see. Truth Seekers is not better than Shaun of the Dead, of course, but considering it is a series and not a movie, I have to admit, it is pretty close. I am looking forward to lots more Truth Seekers, so fingers crossed it gets picked up for another season.

    Overall Thoughts

Truth Seekers is a super fun, and sometimes creepy, supernatural comedy! With only eight episodes that are less than thirty minutes each, this is a show that can easily be binged in one day. Each episode has its own supernatural mystery, but they do all tie together into one fantastic complete story.

As soon as one episode ended, I hit play on the next one. My plan was not to watch them all back to back, but I just couldn’t help it. Every episode of Truth Seekers is better than the last. A but predictable at parts, but between the comedy and the suspense, that is easily overlookable. The timing is perfect for a Halloween binge because Truth Seekers comes to Amazon Prime Video on October 30th!

    About Truth Seekers

Broadband installer by day, paranormal investigator by night, Gus is annoyed to be partnered with “noob” Elton, but comes to appreciate having someone along for the ride as they uncover a spike in supernatural activity. They’re soon joined by Astrid, who has ghost problems of her own, and the gang embark upon creating a ghost-hunting YouTube channel, uncovering a terrifying conspiracy as they go.

Watch Truth Seekers on Amazon Prime Video October 30th!
