Is Rise of the Resistance Worth The Wait At Galaxy’s Edge?

Rise of the Resistance is a brand new ride at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge — and it is sure to have insanely long wait times. Well, I got to check it out before it was open to the public, so let me tell you just how long a wait I think is worth it.

is rise of the resistance worth the wait

I first visited Batuu at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in September — and it was everything I could have hoped for and more! You guys, I got to fly the Millennium Falcon, and there is nothing like it for a Star Wars fan like me. The second ride, Rise of the Resistance, wasn’t open yet but I did get to see part of the queue. To say that had me excited, is an understatement.

But one thing I noticed about the queue is that it looked long. Like REALLY long. Of course with any brand new ride, Disney plans ahead for long wait times. Remember when Flight of Passage opened at Pandora in Animal Kingdom? That ride still has an average wait time of two or more hours!

Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run didn’t do as well as they hoped — and I was able to get on it with waiting less than 30 minutes several times my last visit (and it had been open for less than a month). Did I think that was worth it? For sure! I would have waited an hour or so, as long as I could be pilot.

My Guess On A Worthwhile Wait Time

There are sure to be long wait times for Rise of the Resistance for at least the first week after it opens — but if you are like me, I don’t like to wait in lines for something that is not worth it. My initial thought, before even stepping foot on this ride, was that it would be worth a minimum of a two hour wait. A ride that is not on a track, goes in the dark, and is themed for one of my favorite franchises of all time? Yea, that would be worth just about anything.

Not to mention the added bonus of the promise of a Kylo Ren sighting (swoon).

What Wait Time Makes Rise Of The Resistance Worth It?

As soon as I got off Rise of the Resistance, I wanted to go on again. It is like nothing I have ever experienced in my life. When you are on, be sure to look around you. Completely. Up, down, side to side, you name it.

If you are a major Star Wars fan Rise of the Resistance is easily worth a two hour wait. I know I would wait that long. If you aren’t a big fan, but still want to experience it, a one hour wait will be worth it. Hands down.

So how long would the wait time have to be for me to pass on going? Honestly, a three and a half hour wait would make me think. Anything over a four hour wait and you have lost me. And that’s after I have already been on it. Three times. If it was my first or second time? I would wait longer than that!
