One of my favorite things about the holidays is taking my daughters to get their Christmas Card photos done. I have always heard good things about Portrait Innovations so I was very excited when they contacted me to go check them out. I must say, this was probably the best photography experience I have ever had with my daughters. It took a lot less time than we expected and we got a lot of amazing photos to choose from! It really was a tough decision – but they had lots of great package options as well. This is THE place for holiday photos – and the savings right now are great!
The staff there was amazing and really held their attention long enough to capture some gorgeous photos. My girls are 3 and 5 years old and so you can imagine they sometimes get distracted. I know I am not alone when I say that some of our holiday photos have come out…interesting. Terrible and awkward pictures can be a result of tons of factors, including inexperienced photographers, camera malfunctions, and kids who refuse to sit still for more than a moment. Portrait Innovations has photographers at each of their studios that have been trained in the newest posing and shooting techniques and work. They specialize in giving customers a customized portrait studio experience with creative options for beautiful, professional portraits and personalized gifts and keepsakes.
I was very impressed with the amount of props that they had for all different photo styles (not just the holidays). They had a few rooms and seemed to be moving families around the different setups really efficiently. We were only there for about an hour – and that included a wardrobe change as well as selecting our photos and gifts.
I loved their process of selecting the photos that we wanted. It was the perfect way to make sure we got our favorite ones. Three similar photos were on the screen at the same time and you would select your favorite one. We did this until we got to the end of the photos and then they were all displayed on the screen. You can then narrow it down from there, or select the package that you would like. You can even receive disks with your photos on them (Hi or Low Resolution) depending on the package and number of poses you go with.
There are special gifts that you can create with your photos including books, calendars, canvas prints, mugs, and more! It is so nice to be able to order these all in one place and while you are there with someone to help you through the process. Talk about a great gift for grandparents! Speaking of gifts, I was thrilled to be able to include greeting cards in our package. One less thing for me to worry about during the busy holiday season.
But the best part? Our photos were ready for us to pick up just 20 minutes after our session (the books and calendars can be shipped to the store for easy pickup later or right to your house!). Panera Bread and Target are right there, so families can just do some shopping or have something to eat while they wait. There is also a LEGO table which is the perfect way to occupy little ones!
