Tune in to Two New Nature Cat Episodes

Nature Cat

Nature Cat tells the story of Fred, a house cat who dreams of exploring the great outdoors. In each episode, once his family leaves for the day, Fred transforms into Nature Cat, “backyard explorer extraordinaire”. Nature Cat can’t wait to get outside for a day of backyard nature excursions and adventures, but there’s one problem: He’s still a house cat with no instincts for nature itself. With the help of his animal friends, Nature Cat embarks on action-packed adventures that include exciting missions full of nature investigation, “aha” discovery moments and humor, all while inspiring children to go outside and “play the show.” Nature Cat’s adventures take him through his family’s big backyard, into the woods, and then into the “four corners” of his natural world: parks, ponds, caves, gardens, marshes, ravines, swamps, canyons, nature preserves and mountains.

My daughters LOVE Nature Cat! We are big PBS Kids fan in this house (which is the channel Nature Cat airs on) and he is one of our favorite shows to tune into. My 4 year old loves the outdoors and is always exploring – just like Nature Cat. She loved to do these things before, but I think he love for it got stronger when she saw Nature Cat doing it. I was lucky enough to screen two upcoming episodes with my daughters this past week – and they were fantastic. Both episodes are funny, entertaining, and teach kids something important.

The Great Grasshopper Race
Hal’s grasshopper buddy Dustin Hopman will be competing today in the Great Grasshopper Race.  Hal has been training him, and now there is no doubt that Dustin is ready to go! But before the race starts, Dustin inexplicably hops off into the woods. It’s up to the gang to find Dustin and bring him back before the race starts.  But looking for a small green bug turns out to be more easily said than done!

Fall For Hal
The first day of fall is Hal’s favorite day of the year.  It’s when he always goes on his First Day of Fall Scavenger Hunt.  But there is a big problem this year.  Hal is sick and can’t get out of bed!  When it looks like Hal is in for some major disappointment today, Nature Cat comes up with a great idea: they will bring fall, and all the items on his scavenger hunt list, to Hal!

These episodes will premiere on PBS Kids on May 23rd – so be sure to tune in!
