Hailey’s On It! Series Offers Fun For Kids & Adults

Hailey’s On It! is a new animated series that offers fun for viewers of all ages. This series is extremely relatable, and full of surprises! This review is based solely on the first three episodes of Hailey’s On It! season one.

Hailey's On It! Disney Series review

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you made different decisions in your life? The new animated series Hailey’s On It! explores that in a way that is fun and unique. When teenage Hailey is visited by someone from the future, they explain that she needs to do every item on her checklist or the world could end. You see, she grew up to do a lot of amazing things, including fix global warming, and if she varies in any of the decisions made along her path, the world as she knows it is doomed.

The series will follow Hailey and her best friend slash neighbor Scott as they work to complete items on her list. There is just one problem, one of the items is to kiss Scott. They already have a will they / won’t they relationship that the creators of the show describe as a Jim and Pam (from The Office) relationship. Hailey constantly makes excuses to skip that item number, however there will certainly come a time where she is forced to complete it, or ruin the future.

Hailey's On It! Disney Series review

In the first three episodes of Hailey’s On It! season one, there is a lot of fun and humor. Everything that Hailey goes through is incredibly relatable. We all have that one carnival ride we want nothing to do with, an arch nemesis rival, and a friend we might not like nearly as much as we let them think we do.

The reason this show works as well is it does is for that exact reason. It is easy to relate to Hailey and her life. Can you imagine if you were told you needed to do things a certain way or the world would burn up in flames? That is a lot of pressure for a teenager, even if she is proud of herself knowing what she accomplishes in the future.

The to do list might sound silly at first, but no matter how small or obsolete a task might seem, there are dire consequences if not performed accurately.

Overall Thoughts

Hailey’s On It! is a series that families can watch together. The jokes aren’t dumbed down so that parents will be rolling their eyes while the kids chuckle. The creators and writers have a confidence in their younger audience to understand what they are going for. That said, there are a few things that will probably go over kids heads that the parents will enjoy.

The animation is gorgeous, although it is a similar style to other Disney series we have seen before. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I kept waiting for a crossover — which I am now realizing I need so please Disney, make it happen.

Hailey’s On It! premieres June 8 on Disney Channel and Disney XD, and comes the next day to Disney+.
