TWICE [This Is For] World Tour Review: Mics Were ON at the Kia Forum!

From “Takedown” to the epic stage design, my first TWICE concert was legendary. Here’s my review of an unforgettable night at the Kia Forum.

There is something uniquely electric about a last-minute decision that leads to an unforgettable experience. I’ve only been a K-Pop fan for about a year, but in that short time, TWICE has loomed large as a “must-see” group. When the opportunity came up to catch the first night of their [This Is For] World Tour at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, I didn’t hesitate. Walking into that arena with a friend, not quite knowing what to expect from my first live TWICE experience, I had no idea I was about to witness a masterclass in pop performance.

TWICE’s Stage Solidified There Is No Bad Seat In The House

Going into the show, we had seats in the 200s section. Usually, that might feel a bit distant, but the Kia Forum truly lives up to its reputation – there really isn’t a bad seat in the house. What made the view truly spectacular, however, was the stage design. It was massive and incredibly inclusive of the entire audience. With a main stage in the center and two long catwalks leading to auxiliary stages on either side of the floor, the girls were constantly in motion.

The production value was staggering. I noticed right away how the moving screens and rising platforms felt inspired by the grand scale of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. It gave the show a cinematic quality that matched the seasoned veteran status of a group that has been dominating the industry for ten years.

I Still Can’t Believe I Saw “Takedown” Live

As a newer fan, I was thrilled to hear a setlist that spanned their entire decade-long career. They balanced the nostalgia of their early hits with the sophisticated sound of their newer era perfectly. But the absolute peak of the night for me – and clearly for the rest of the crowd – was when they performed “Takedown” and “Strategy” from the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack.

The energy in the room shifted from excited to feral. Seeing those tracks live, with the mics on and the vocals ringing out clearly over the bass, was a reminder of why TWICE remains at the top. They weren’t just dancing; they were performing.

Dahyun Powered Through The Night With An Injury

One of the most touching parts of the night involved Dahyun. Despite suffering from an ankle injury that forced her to remain seated in a chair for nearly the entire show, her presence was never diminished. It was a testament to her professionalism and love for ONCE; she was constantly waving, singing her heart out, and doing whatever choreography she could manage from her seat.

You could tell she hated being sidelined, but she made sure the fans felt her energy regardless.

I also have to highlight the solo stages. This is one of my favorite aspects of K-Pop culture – the way the show pauses to let every single member have their moment in the spotlight. It allows their individual personalities to break through the synchronized perfection of the group numbers. Whether it was a vocal-heavy ballad or a high-energy dance break, seeing each girl shine individually made me appreciate the group’s collective chemistry even more.

By the time the encore rolled around, the atmosphere shifted into something much more intimate. The girls swapped their elaborate stage outfits for comfy tour merch, and the strict choreography was traded for genuine interaction. Seeing them joke around, play with fans in the front rows (going so far as to point out a trio of ONCE that were dressed like KPop Demon Hunters‘ HUNTR/X), and just be themselves made the stadium feel like a small room.

It was clear they were having just as much fun after ten years as they did on day one.

I left the Kia Forum with my ears ringing and a massive smile on my face. TWICE proved that they aren’t just a group; they are K-Pop legends. From the insanely impressive visuals to the raw talent on display, it was a night I’ll never forget.

If you ever have the chance to see them – even if it’s a last-minute 200-section ticket – take it.
