Ahsoka Episode 7 gives fans more time with Sabine and Ezra, while also making the audience realize Thrawn’s military genius.

Ahsoka Episode 7 “Dreams and Madness” Recap
The opening of Ahsoka episode 7 gives fans closure on Hera’s summoning by the New Republic council. She is getting a talking to about defying orders, when a familiar face comes to save her. C-3PO arrives, stating he is there at the request of Leia Organa (queue the waterworks). Leia claims that she sanctioned Hera’s mission, so she was not acting out of turn. Of course, this isn’t exactly true, but it is nice of Leia to step in and help Hera out.
As the meeting wraps up, Mon Mothma asks Hera to put aside her personal feelings and think about if Thrawn really is a threat. Hera says they need to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
After the title screen, we see Ahsoka practicing her lightsaber work – as she watches a hologram message from Anakin detailing her training. He tells her that he will not always be there to protect her, but that he knows she is capable. Yup, tears again.

Ahsoka episode 7 recap continued…
When Ahsoka and Huyang are dropped off by the Purrgil, they go right into a trap set by Thrawn – a minefield surrounding the entry point. They navigate their way through it, and even have to fight off some gunships, but they make it.
They hide in a debris field, which Thrawn orders his troops not to go in to. He is a military genius, which this episode spends a lot of time showing. He does this after he learns that Anakin Skywalker was her master, saying she is going to be unpredictable and dangerous if she is anything like him.

Next we get a lot of Sabine and Ezra banter, which fans will be thrilled about. They talk and laugh and she catches him up on all the things that he has missed while being away. He asks about Ahsoka, but she brushes the question off. Remember, she thinks Ahsoka is dead.
Shin and Baylan find Ezra and Sabine but Baylan sees something in Shin that makes him realize their paths are different. He tells her to call it in to Thrawn and to go kill Ezra and Sabine, but offers a bit of advice before departing from her – Impatience for victory will guarantee defeat.

Ahsoka episode 7 recap continued…
There middle of this episode is mostly filled with fighting. Sabine continues to wield the lightsaber that Ezra gave her, which Huyang has already explained is hers now. When Ahsoka uses the force to find Sabine, which Sabine feels (she is getting more force sensitive, yay!) she comes across Baylan first. Even though he left Shin, he doesn’t want to leave any loose ends, and the two have a rematch.
This delivers some pretty great visuals, however no one wins. Ahsoka ends up escaping the fight under cover so that she can help Ezra and Sabine. In the end, Thrawn decides to cut their loses and pull the remaining troops back, including Shin. He knows that Baylan has abandoned them, although he is not sure of the why yet.
But since the transfer is almost complete, they will be able to leave and head to their home galaxy soon. Thrawn says that Ahsoka Tano has lost the one thing she couldn’t afford to lose that day, time.
Ahsoka episode 7 recap continued…
When Thrawn’s forces are retreating, Shin lingers. Ahsoka tells her to put down her lightsaber and that she can help her. Shin seems to think about it for a moment, before running off.
Shortly after Huyang arrives with the ship and Ezra says he has a feeling he is finally going home. His turtle friends seem to be very happy for him.
With just one more episode in the season, will things tie up neatly? Or will they be left open for a season two?
While the story only minimally progresses, fans get much needed time with Sabine and Ezra, and Thrawn’s military genius is highlighted. Also, there are some pretty sweet fight scenes.
