Meet Young Actress Zaris-Angel Hator who voices Maisie in the new Netflix Film The Sea Beast, in this interview.

In an era when terrifying beasts roamed the seas, monster hunters were celebrated heroes – and none were more beloved than the great Jacob Holland. But when young Maisie Brumble stows away on his fabled ship, he’s saddled with an unexpected ally. Together they embark on an epic journey into uncharted waters and make history.
The film is directed by Academy Award winning filmmaker Chris Williams, who worked on successful Disney film such as Moana, Big Hero Six, and Bolt. This time around, Williams is taking us to where the map ends, and the true adventure begins. Williams also penned the script alongside with Nell Benjamin.
The voice cast is amazing and includes Karl Urban, newcomer Zaris-Angel Hator, Jared Harris, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Dan Stevens, Kathy Burke, and more. Amazing voice cast with newcomers and experienced-talented actors we all love.
For this release I had the opportunity to speak with young actress Zaris-Angel Hator who voices Maisie Brumble on the story. Maisie is sweet little girl who wants to sail in the big ships to find the creatures she learned on the stories she heard.
Zaris-Angel is “really excited about the film” and she learned more about her as the production was moving forward “In the beginning, I didn’t really know much about Maisie, and when I initially got the audition, I just sent in a little voice recording of saying some of the lines and it wasn’t until I got recall that I really started to learn more about her from the script. Then, you can see what kind of character she is”, she explains.
Since she was learned more about Maisie during the process, Hator found out that she can relate with her and said: “she has a lot more confident than her, strong as well and she does go on a big journey and she’s willing to see people’s good, the good part about people and everyone, even the sea monsters. So, I think that’s something I can relate to because I try to do that with people around me as well.”
The Sea Beast is visually stunning with a beautiful message of acceptance and to see the good in others and Hator added “I think it’s a very strong message about being kind to everyone and seeing the good in a lot of people and not judging people and things around you.
Also, Jacob (voice by Karl Urban) and Maisie have a really strong bond especially when they’re united, they can do everything; so, I think that’s something really important especially for families”.
The Sea Beast is streaming now on Netflix.
