WARNING: SPOILERS FOR OBI-WAN KENOBI EPISODE 4

Thus far Obi-Wan Kenobi has been a constantly improving show as last week’s episode was miles ahead of the first 2 and this week’s somehow topped the last. Before we get into everything I loved I had one big issue with this episode and it was that we didn’t see much of Vader.

Last week we got this absolutely insane duel between Vader and Kenobi, ending with Vader dragging Kenobi through fire and it had my anticipation for this episode at an all time high but this episode we didn’t get much of him at all.

We got a little bit of him towards the end with the Third Sister but I wish they didn’t speed past Obi-Wan’s recovery and the repercussions of the last episode so fast.

Speaking of the Third Sister, I really love what they did this episode with her. They used her connection with Leia to give her more backstory and it works so well. Giving us any connection to the Third Sister was much needed in this show and this episode did it perfectly.

Also was not expecting them to go as far as to almost torture a 10 year old – but it had my stress levels at an all time high. I also loved the scene where Obi-Wan pops up and saves Leia from the torture machine and the action in general from this show has been delivering.

From lightsaber combat to blasters, I think the choreography has been insane throughout this show and this episode was no different. This is the main reason as to why I’m not totally mad about minimal Darth Vader. The hallway scene where Kenobi has to hold in the water from blasting though was so well done along with all of the other combat.

Kenobi in general was really great this episode, though I do think his “healing” from the last episode was too fast, I am a fan of where the story is going overall. They are taking these side missions, smaller level things, but expanding them to larger story points.

All of the story points in this show have been hitting for me thus far and I think it is because since the last episode they amped everything up. Third Sister fully embraces how crazy she will get to find Obi-Wan, Vader wants Kenobi dead, and Kenobi is mastering the force once again. Last episode it felt like some of the dialogue moments dragged but here it was either action, high tension sneaking around and dialogue.

I think the Third Sister really stepped up in this episode as a more interesting part of the show and her interactions with Leia are something I want to see much more of in the future. As a whole there isn’t much to say about this episode other than the fact that is does everything well.

This show has really stepped up its game and the final 2 episodes, I think, could put this show above most of the other Disney+ Original shows.
