The Book Of Boba Fett Chapter 4 is now available on Disney+ and it finally dives into the meeting of Boba and Fennec Shand. But is it too little too late?

The Book Of Boba Fett has more or less been a disappointment for me, and I know I am not the only Star Wars fan that feels this way. The back and forth between the past and present in each episode is often choppy, and it feels like there is no progression of plot in the present. The Book Of Boba Fett Chapter 4 continues this trend, with about eighty percent of the episode spent in the past. At least the opportunity is taken to finally show viewers what happened when Boba Fett and Fennec Shand met. But is it all too little too late?
Warning: The Book Of Boba Fett Chapter 4 Minor Spoilers Ahead

Many fans have already jumped ship from The Book Of Boba Fett, claiming to binge it all once it is over due to just how slow it is moving. The series spends its time revealing past events every time Boba heals in his Bacta Tank, and for the most part this is taking up the majority of each episode. Had the series started off in the past, and worked its way into the present, the flow and pacing would be much easier to swallow. Unfortunately this is not the case.
It jumps back and forth in a very jarring way that also makes the audience feel like nothing is happening the present, or at least very little. Yes, there are some action scenes, and Boba is slowly recruiting a team so that he can take down the Pykes and get revenge for his Tuscan tribe as well as solidify himself as Daimyo of Mos Espa — but that is about it. Chapter 4 means that this season is now more than halfway through, and there really is nothing to show for it except some understanding of the past.

The Book Of Boba Fett Chapter 4 kicks right off with Boba discovered Fennec, and then bringing her to get modifications that will save her life. That scene in itself feels very out of place, with the flashing a rave music, but let’s try to forget about it. The two then team up so that Boba can take Slave-1 back from Bib Fortuna, and there are some fun action scenes against droids and Fortuna’s guards. There also seems to be a little bit of flirting between Fennec and Boba which is… weird.
Once he has his ship back, he takes revenge on the Sarlacc in an effort to find his armor. This scene goes on far too long considering we all know his armor is with Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant) and Boba will take possession of it again in The Mandalorian.

Back to the present and we learn that Boba is finally all healed! This means he should not have to enter the Bacta Tank again, and also means this is likely the last time we will be thrown back into the past, thankfully. Now hopefully the series can move forward in the right direction, as Boba and his team take on the Pykes.
