Enchantress has perhaps appeared in the MCU on Marvel Studios’ Loki, but what is known about this character from Marvel Comics?

Marvel Studios’ Loki is in full swing and there is someone who is potentially Enchantress appearing on the show — so in this article we will breakdown who she is, her connection to Loki, and her power set. There is a chance she could also be Lady Loki — but either way there is a powerful new female super in the MCU.
What Are Enchantress’ Powers?
When the Asgardians move themselves to Earth, they take up residence in Broxton, Oklahoma, and the young girl named Sylvie Ashton is never the same after that. One day she wakes up to discover that she has gained magic powers. These powers include teleportation, telekinesis, force field, deflection, energy projection, flight, mental manipulation, and sorcery, but the most interesting is transmutation, where she can transform people into animals. Her power is displayed as green magical energy that comes from her hands, and is something viewers see in Loki.
She decides to take up the name Enchantress, and assumes she is a lost Asgardian. She wants nothing more than to join up with the Young Avengers to fight crime, but ends up going down a dark and criminal path. Enchantress uses mind manipulation to trick them into allowing her to try out for the team. Sometimes she has an Asgardian accent, which is fake, and very random.

A Connection To Loki
So what is Enchantress’ connection to Loki? Well, she eventually learns that she was given these powers by Loki, something that her Young Avengers teammates do not take kindly to, and is the main reason they kick her off the team. That and her very inappropriate continued advances toward her teammate Wiccan, who is gay and not interested in her.
Loki eventually confesses to Enchantress that he created her just for fun. He found it amusing to make a human that thinks she is a lost Asgardian — hinting at the idea that perhaps Sylvie did not even exist before Loki made her in order to cause a little mischief. Perhaps he planted her memories and she just appeared in existence one day.

Is Enchantress In The MCU?
Many viewers believe that the female appearing in Marvel Studios’ Loki on Disney+ is none other than Enchantress herself. This is speculated because of her blond hair, and the fact that some people claim Sylvie was listed as the name of Sophia di Martino’s character in the international credits, which is Enchantress’ name — Sylvie Lushton.
The other possible identity of this person is Lady Loki for multiple reasons, including the fact that Mobius himself mentioned the person they are hunting is a variant of Loki. Her outfit is very similar to Loki’s, including the horns he is well known for.

Another Young Avengers Member
Enchantress briefly joins the Young Avengers (before making enemies of them) in Marvel Comics, which means she could be yet another member of this team to come into the MCU. However, the version of her in Loki seems to be a bit too old to join, but with time travel on the table, who knows what might happen. Other members already appearing in the MCU, or scheduled to appear in the MCU, include:
- Cassie Lang AKA Stature
- Kate Bishop AKA Hawkeye
- Eli Bradley AKA Patriot
- Billy Maximoff AKA Wiccan
- Tommy Maximoff AKA Speed
- America Chavez AKA Miss America
Kid Loki is another member of the Young Avengers, and there is a lot of potential for him to show up in the Loki series as well.
