She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 7 is now streaming on Disney+. Here is our review and recap of the episode – warning spoilers ahead!
She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Episode 7 Review
Starting off with some sad news, Daredevil isn’t in this episode but more on that later.
In She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Episode 7, we focus on Jennifer going on a retreat at Emil Blonsky’s (aka Abomination) house and her coming to terms with a lot of stuff going on in her She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters life.
This episode does a great job of getting to this point, the opening shows Jennifer and Josh going on a few dates, and of course, later in the episode we find out what he was really doing, but at the moment it was a great way to catapult us into She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Episode 7.
The retreat itself is another fun sub-plot and yes, we get more teases to the ‘final’ story at the end of the episode but sadly the sub-plot wasn’t as engaging as the others from this season.
What made the subplot interesting was the side characters, there were five (not including Abomination) and one of those five was part of the gang that tried to beat up Jennifer in a previous episode. These random, but important, characters are why the show flourishes in terms of week-to-week stories because it creates a level of interconnectedness.
As we mentioned before, the entire point of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Episode 7 was to have Jennifer realize the dependence on She-Hulk she had in the past, and how to get rid of it. This leads to our theory for next week’s episode and how Daredevil can be integrated.
We know from the marketing that Matt Murdock and Jennifer Walters have a conversation about Jen’s responsibilities versus She-Hulk’s responsibilities, this is similar to what was discussed in this episode except for this time it was more personal.
This would also be perfect for the next episode and not the finale because the showrunner did confirm that the origin for She-Hulk was originally going to be in episode 8 not 1, but this discussion and revelation with Matt could act as a similar character motive.
Other shows like Wandavision and Captain America and the Winter Soldier had a similar format but since they finished the origin already, it would make sense for Matt to inspire/help Jennifer complete the arc of the show.
Of course, at the end of the episode, we get a tease for the overall story and here we find out that Josh, the guy Jennifer went on dates with, is working for the villain. We see him scan and copy everything on her phone and take a picture of her while she is sleeping. We don’t yet know WHO the villain is but we can get the idea that he or she wants to become a hulk because they want She-Hulk’s blood.
As a whole She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Episode 7 is another solid episode, nothing so far has really blown us away but that’s not to say the stories aren’t enjoyable. The series does a great job of giving us sitcom-like individual stories while creating an intriguing overall story and for that, we have to give props.
