Ms. Marvel’s Season Finale separates itself from all of the other Marvel Disney+ TV shows — and in the best ways possible. Here’s our Ms. Marvel episode 6 spoiler recap and review.
Warning: SPOILERS for Ms. Marvel Episode 6.
After an exciting, but weird, episode 5, the worries for the Ms. Marvel season finale were once again here as the MCU Disney+ shows tend to fumble the ending — but this time they stuck the landing.
Last episode we got some heavy backstory on the lore of Kamala’s bangle, her family, and more – but this episode we go back to New Jersey and, like the first three episodes, we actually get to see the impact she has on her community. Most people didn’t like the middle of the show as it deviated from what made this series so different from the rest — a smaller scale, better sense of family — but the finale takes it back to its roots and gives us some great storytelling at the same time.
Seeing Kamran and Bruno on the run, the mosque helping them hide, and the scheme to fight the Department of Damage Control (DODC), there was a lot to unpack but luckily it was handled really well.

There is a big issue with the Ms. Marvel in general, however. That is the balancing of tones, which goes back to the differences in episodes one through three and four and five, is off. The first three episodes really hone in on the familial and community aspects whereas four and five get more worldly and globetrotting. The Ms. Marvel season finale has to balance those completely opposite tones, but thankfully it does so in a way that works as best as it can.
The friends scheme up a plan to take down the Department of Damage Control. It is the most childish part of this episode, but once they come up with the plan, the action sets in and its great as always.
This series has done a great job with its action from start to finish, with the finale being no different. The action tends to be when some childish aspects come in — for example softball shooting and pulse blasters (which logistically have a whole lot of issues even though they are a lot of fun).

Kamran is dealing with his new powers, which causes him to go full crisis mode. Luckily Kamala is there to guide him through these changes, as she recently went through them as well. Their relationship through this show has been very well done and their dialogue in the bubble was great, furthering Kamala’s character and identity.
After the big fight, the show settles into basic character resolutions. There is one scene in particular that stands out, however, where Kamala and her father are sitting on the roof. Her dad says, “But you sure are and always have been, our own little Ms. Marvel.” That one like really sums up this entire show, as she gets her name from her dad and her costume from her mom, showing that family is genuinely the most important thing to her character.
Finally, we have to talk about that name drop — MUTANTS. So is Kamala Khan the first mutant in the MCU? It looks like they changed her from an Inhuman to a Mutant, which not many comic-readers will mind as long as it is done well. Though we are not too sure how this will all play out in the future of the MCU, it does look like since Kamran and Kamala are mutants — one evil and one good — so the political divide can start.
Coincidentally the next MCU show deals with superhero politics and the law, with She Hulk: Attorney at Law, so we will be getting answers soon enough.
As a whole, Ms. Marvel did deviate from the regular Disney+ MCU formula, it has its tonal inconsistencies but its well written, the action is entertaining, and it delivers on a consistently emotional and intriguing story.
Finale: 7.5 out of 10
