The 10 Best Movies of 2022

This year delivered a lot of fantastic films, which made narrowing it down to just the best ten nearly impossible. So much so that we just had to throw in an honorable mention. As the year comes to a close, we are giving you the 10 best movies of 2022 (in our opinion).

HONORABLE MENTION: Marcel the Shell with Shoes On

We would DIE for this shell. This film makes viewers fall in love with a bizarre looking shell. Making it a mockumentary was brilliant and allows the audience to really connect with Marcel. Those who don’t cry during Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, well… they just simply don’t have a heart. You can’t convince me otherwise.

The Adam Project

Not only does this movie have a great story, incredible cast, action for days, and a ton of heart and humor — it reunites 13 Going On 30 co-stars Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Gardner. Need we say more?

Fresh

Sebastian Stan gives his best ever performance in this intense thriller.

Fresh is part romantic comedy, part thriller, and all fun. It is grotesque and disturbing at times, but also strangely satisfying.

A Man Called Otto

A Man Called Otto is the wholesome and live-affirming movie that we all needed after what the last few years have been like. Tom Hanks gives an incredible performance, as expected, but it is Mariana Treviño who steals the show.

Next Exit

Next Exit is haunting, powerful, and extremely emotional. Viewers will never look at the life the same way again. While the movie itself is packed with truly powerful and emotional moments that will hit audiences right in the gut as they start to evaluate their own lives and paths, it is the incredible lead performances that make Next Exit a can’t miss film.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022). (L-R) Kathryn Hahn as Claire, Madelyn Cline as Whiskey, Edward Norton as Myles, Leslie Odom Jr. as Lionel, and Kate Hudson as Birdie. Cr. John Wilson/Netflix © 2022.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is the rare time a sequel is better than the first film. The cast is incredible and the twists are shocking. There is a lot to unpack, but that is what works so well about it. It begs to be watched multiple times, with each one delivering a fantastic experience.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is heavy, intense, and emotional. It tackles grief and loss in a way that is relatable, but isn’t afraid to include vengeance and anger.

Everything Everywhere All At Once

Despite all the raves about it, this movie still somehow exceeded expectations. The story, the action, and the emotion all make it a must watch. The runtime moves pretty quickly, at a steady pace. Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and Stephanie Hsu are all phenomenal.

The Batman

The Batman is dark, gritty, brooding, bloody.. and did I mention dark? The entire cast shines, and the three hour length is never felt. As someone who has always been a big fan of villains, especially those that reside in Gotham, I was over the moon pleased with how The Riddler, The Penguin, [REDACTED FOR SPOILERS], and Carmine Falcone are portrayed in this film. The Batman perfectly showcases the insanity of these criminals, and DC fans are going to love it.

The Banshees of Inisherin

The Banshees of Inisherin is a dark and bleak dramedy that is unafraid to tackle depression, despair, and worrying about the legacy you leave behind.
